Global Leader’s Endorsements
As I read this unique book, five words come to my mind: reality, mercy, grace, forgiveness and transformation. I’m really excited about the ministry of Avanti, and it’s a privilege to be linked with Tony in this great work. The reason is because the Word of God is clear: “Go into all the world and preach the Gospel to every person”. As a Church we are doing a lot of good things, and I believe in doing good things, but I believe the best thing that we can do is to preach the Gospel, to share Christ, to do everything we can to bring in the harvest around the globe.

Tony’s remarkable story proved to be a real draw for hundreds of people
when he visited the town. He spoke with humility & honesty but what I
was ultimately left was a sense of his passion for Jesus and his
presentation of the gospel was the real highlight of every event. It was
clear, succinct and very challenging and above all God glorifying. I
feel privileged to have been able to work alongside Tony and his team.

Changed lives are by far the loudest voice of God’s existence and the best proof of His presence and work in mankind. Tony Anthony’s testimony had impacted hundreds of Romanians who not only listened attentively to God’s story in his life but were deeply touched in their hearts by God’s power to change and offer hope to the helpless. His book is one of the most read Christian books around and his speaking events are some of the most sought ministry events around here. Many Christian leaders from various cities in Romania contacted me to find out when Tony is coming back because they have heard of his impact in Arad, in Bucharest and consider his message as a very effective tool to bring people to the Lord in Romania at this time. His modesty, his serving heart and his passionate preaching allow people to see God in Tony’s ministry.
Cristian Barbosu
Pastor at Biserica Metanoia AradI understood so many things by reading your story. It made me want to go further in my faith and to completely accept Jesus’ way of thinking and not mine (as I have a tendency to follow my plans and not His…) I don’t want to forget about my decision to let Him take control of my life ; and I know that your book is really helping me! So thank you.

Avanti ministries visit in Kokkola, Finland, last year May moved
strongly our city. Lot of unbelievers attended in the Taming the Tiger
occasions and they were very moved by Jesus’ work in Tony Anthony’s
life. Tony Anthony visited at schools, preached on many services, kept a
lecture about evangelism, and much more. These occasions did attract
attention and many local news paper wrote about the occasions, and then
even those people who didn’t attend to any meetings were reached to
their homes with the message of Jesus’ changing power.Challenge to these occasions was big because by the time we knew about
Avanti ministries and Tony Anthony only from the book of Taming the
Tiger. For our gladness we discovered the immediate friendship and
mutual vision to win souls to Jesus. Tony’s visit, including it’s
evangelising education, blew new fire to evangelise to the whole church.Crucial point in the whole occasion was that our own local church was
prepared. Joint prayer meetings, advertising and all beforehand
information was making sure that evangelising was successful. Labor in
the Lord is not in vain. Beside the good campaign we made new friends.
This is Gods kingdoms work on it’s best; connection, friendship, and
teamwork. Now at the moment we are getting prepared for a new visit from Avanti
ministries to Kokkola, Finland. I’m recommending them full genially for
visits and for their work.

We organised an outreach event with Avanti Ministries in our town of Bournemouth (England) in July 2008. To say the event was a resounding success is an understatement. The impact of that night is still being felt (almost 3 months later)! Although it was such a big event for us as a church, the people at Avanti made it so easy because of their professionalism and dedication. There is no doubt that God is using Avanti Ministries to impact lives and transform nations. I urge the Body of Christ all over the world to get behind Tony Anthony and the guys because Avanti is truly a ministry that has been commissioned by the Lord to “Go into all the world”.

The visit of Tony Anthony to the Johannesburg area of South Africa this year was significant in that he came and delivered a Personal Witness to Jesus Christ that was both relevant and real. The clarity of the Gospel was powerful, well illustrated truth that causes people to believe and
change behaviour. Tony appealed both to the saved and the unsaved. We have had some good feedback from people into whose lives the imprint of the Message has evoked questions and a real seeking after God; in the community and in the prisons as well as in the schools. We have sensed the real moving of God by the responses as peoples lives were touched. We were challenged as Christians to proclaim Christ in a personal way to others. To have a “Tony Anthony” event in reaching to totally lost men is something we have learnt from this Outreach. Tony’s life carries the real message and we praise God, it clearly impacts the young and the old
for Jesus Christ. We are excited about future ministry of this kind for these inner city communities in Johannesburg, South Africa. The book, The Taming of the Tiger has opened up opportunities to witness even among the Muslim communities; it is a great tool for Evangelism.

I come from Cameroon, I’m a child of God, new-born Christian, and this book scared me at first but at the end I understood that God has a plan for you. I can assure you that this testimony affected me and gave me a new courage to do evangelism.
Gunie Flore Tsozwe (Cameroon)
When I finished the book, I’m kneel and I pray. It was the first time in my life. Last Sunday, after 2 years, I’m back on the church. I have to find the real liberty whom you explained in your book. Your book change me and I want follow to pray and meet Jesus.

Through Tony’s ministry, many of our members have become bold ambassadors of Christ. Some begin by tucking £20 tract note in strategic places. They and others are openly sharing the good news of Jesus. Praise God we’re seeing several folks responding to Him.

Release has really turned the Evangelism wheel inside South African Prisons. Three-hundred inmates from six different prisons received the training and received the Power of God unto Salvation. Wardens and Chaplains asked to be trained. There’s much excitement and interest in the clarity and effectiveness in this Gospel presentation and teaching programme. We can’t wait to see the Avanti team come out to South Africa to repeat the training!

The recent Release conference in our rural area helped us as a group of churches to focus our minds on what is most important. On a personal level it did what the title suggests it released me from a sense of fear of failure over evangelism. As a result I know of several who have become so much bolder in their personal evangelism as a direct result.

Tony Anthony and associate Evangelists recently conducted an Evangelism Training weekend and “New Life Christian Centre” in Wembley. The Training Seminar was very practical and our people were motivated and inspired to share their faith with the lost. The weekend contained excellent inspiring teaching with great testimonies and stories to move and motivate and mobilise our church into more effective Individual and Corporate Evangelism.

Dear Tony
my name is Gerben Zwijnenburg. I live in Holland and I work as a policeman/detective in Rotterdam. In the police cells we have books for the prisoners to read, most funded by Christian people who visit prisoners. When I had an interrigation with one of the suspects, the suspect told me about the
book he read, your book. He told me it was very interesting…i read some of the pages and put it back. I thought it was cool because I dit taekwondo for many years, and train with some special police teams. So the few first pages I read, where very nice for me. I had to continue the interrigation so I putted the book away.
Later I got more interrested and I decided to read your book. No I have read it all, and I must tell you that it was very great to read your book. It opens my eyes for who God is, and want to thank you for writing the book. Jesus really save people, and His power is so great. I hope your work will be blessed by God for a long time.
My English is not very good, but I think you will understand my thanks. I have a queston left; do you really think that sports like taekwondo and boxing are bad for the relationship with Jesus? Becaus I need to be fit for work, and I think in that way it is not bad to defend yourself by training in sports like that. I can not knock doors and fight with people when I am in my uniform, and holding a bible in my hand, can I ?
I would like to hear from you, and again thanks for writing the book and I hope God blesses you in your work.
Greetings from Holland,
Gerben

Dear Tony,It was a blessing to here you sharing your testimony and see your clear visual and verbal communication of the Gospel again.
As we discussed tonight at harthill this evening, here is a short testimony of my friend Rose.1 ] About 4 to 5 years ago i met a man called Ronnie, shared the gospel and through a sequence of events he got saved a few
weeks later. We brought him and his wife to hear your story at a large church of scotland in southside of Glasgow.Rose responded to
your testimony and the gospel message that night,Praise God !
By God’s Grace she has grown in the lord, her marriage to Ronnie, healed and restored. The couple were delivered out of a life of
misery unemployment and and addiction. Rose and Ronnie went on to be members of Destiny church Glasgow where they both completed
bible school .Rose now has a job as a drug worker where she was a service user, as far as I am aware she also started a christian overcomers
group called Brave Hearts which she runs in the Glasgow Church .’ The word of the Lord does not return void…..’2 ] I also wish to encourage you secondly regarding tonight at Harthill church.
For the past 9 years I have been a health visitor in NHS in and around the general north lanarkshire area, essentially, a front line health worker dealing
often with abject deprivation, addiction, child abuse and domestic violence. Sadly, also aware of the great spiritual poverty and often within
many of local churches many religeous people ,who do know Jesus as their personal saviour.
God Bless the minister for having the boldness and courage to invite you to share the Gospel and your testimony . Praise God ! where sin abounds
Gods Grace abounds so much more. The Lord is using you mightily, crossing many denominational boundaries to share your uncompromised message.3 ] I did attended Destiny Glasgow when you did a 2 day seminar a few years ago. Iam now a member of New life Christian Church Hamilton ,which is much
more local for where I live and work.My younger friend whom you met this evening was greatly challenged by your book this week, she is a young christian,
who runs her own dance, theatre school where she uses every opportunity to share the gospel. She delayed attending an impotant family event in glasgow this
evening until I brought her to hear your story in person. She knows from past years some violent Glasgow gangsters, some of whom ,she is convinced that although
they might not initially step over a church door that they would certainly read your book. Finally Tony , Bless you for at many times offerring free copies of your books over the years .4 years ago, you blessed us with a number of books at one of your
meetings because at that time we were struggling financially. All of these books were given as an evangelistic tool to non christians, but last one ,I gave to Donna whom
you met as we chatted briefly tonight and as a young christian it has added to her zeal and determination to share the gospel with companions she knew before she
got saved . The Lord Bless you and your family and your ministry team as you continue in His Service ! Eph 3.20 amp version.Blessings. Alison Sampson.

Hi TonyI dont even really know why I am emailing you but feel I just need to share with you my experience of your book. I was on a break in Devon (I live in Basildon Essex with my husband Rob and have 2 children Lisa 26 and Lee 21) My husband asked me to go with him into a charity shop to look for a book to read and this is when I picked up your book. Originally I got it for my husband to read but when I opened the cover there was an inscription To Ian In His Grace and Grip in the bottom corner was John 8:36 I believe it may have been signed by you? I did not at first recognise the name as Ian to me it looked like Tan. However I began reading the book and could not put it down. I do believe in Jesus but sadly my husband does not believe in anything, I have asked him several times to read the book but he refused saying he was not interested.
As I got close to the final few chapters I was asking God why I had this book and who it was for then it became so clear I wanted to cry. I have a nephew called Ian he has a son called Ethan Ian was into Karate big time and trained with John Anderson at a Dojo in Hackney. A short time ago Ian his partner and their son Ethan were baptised as a family and gave their life to Jesus. Ian had left his old life behind but for some reason he has recently gone back to training and is back into travelling all over for competitions etc. Now I have no idea how this book will impact on him but I just know it has to be sent to him and I am in the process at this moment of posting it to him. I have not yet finished the book so have ordered two more copies from the Avanti Ministries website as I feel sure there will be more people who will want to read your story. I will continue to pray for my husband and children to open their eyes to Jesus. God bless you and all your teamIn Christ

Dear Tony
I have just finished reading your book, Taming the Tiger, for the second time and once again it did not fail to move me and to thank the Lord for such wonderful people as you and your family. I also go into prison on a regular basis, once a month a team of us go into a catergory B prison to hold an evening service of Christian Fellowship, we were in attendance when you visited HMP Dovegate, where praise the Lord over a hundred men gave their lives to the Lord. I also visit on a one to one basis any prisoners who have no-one else to visit them, at present I am visiting a pedophile, at all times I do this in Jesus’s strength not mine, I pray one day this man will come to know our gracious Lord and Saviour.
Two months ago I lost my husband to cancer of the pancreas, but, I thank God I know he is with Him, for after many years my husband finally accepted our Lord Jesus into his life, it has not been an easy time, but, with God’s help I am getting through and I know He will strengthen me.
Thank you for your powerful testamonyGod bless you all

Dear Mr Tony Anthony,
I have just finished reading your book “taming the tiger” over the last two days and i just wanted to contact you to say how amazing your testimony was and im so glad that you decided to publish your testimony as a book and im sure many other people also are. I have had 2 extremley inspiring days at work reading your book so i just wanted to express my thanks and delight that you shared your testimony. I work as a train guard in Birmingham so im sort of allowed to read books etc on the train and whilst reading the part after your conversion in Nicosia prison with the help of Michael Wright i was filled with such joy spiritually.
How you wanted to share the gospel with others in Nicosia and HMP Bullingdon was so inspiring as i have wanted to be an inspiration to my fellow workers but i have not been as productive as yourself in sharing the gospel. I believe i have the light of jesus shining out of me but i want it to shine brighter to glory him, i try to ignite conversations but sometimes dont know how to answer their questions without sounding like another enthusiastic unknowledgeable christian so i just talk briefly about god when prompted. Also being 22 and a fair bit younger than the other men and women (mainly men) that work there feels like an uphill task when talking to them about god or life situations.
I totally understood the part where your wife and Mike Livingstone talk about how they had not had a dramatic encouter with god like you had as i have been a christian for 5 years now and its all seemed pretty quiet and bland, this year has felt like im awakening spiritually and im excited for my future with god so im grateful you talked about their struggles with their “quiet” faith in your book.
If you have 2 free minutes it would be very much appreciated that you could pray for me that i would shine brighter in my work place to glorify our god and jesus our salvation. Sorry for babbling so much but your book has been so inspiring i felt i had to e-mail you and say thankyou!!!!!
Many Thanks for blessing me so much over the last 2 days at my work, Andy Freeman

Hello mr.anthony.
I’m Ryan, from saint john fisher. I just finished reading your book, and to be honest, i admire your courage: i myself doubt i would be brave enough to write a book about my life, let alone stand infront of a whole school of complete strangers, and tell them about your life in so much depth.i was inspired after reading your book to do something with my life, to devote myself to God, and Jesus. i know it will be hard, and it will test me to the limits, and probably further, but i’m prepared for that, so i just have to say thank you so much. i feel very priviliged, honoured, that i got to meet you, and that you took the time to come to saint john fisher and…well im not sure how to put this into words but, ‘save us’.
i know you are a very busy man, and i know you may not be able to reply, but if you do get a chance, please do. and please tell Ethan that i said thank you for praying for everyone at saint john fisher.
God bless you. you may think you have done bad things in your life, but i see you as a holy man,who is certianly worthy of living in Gods kingdom, after the work you have been doing in the name of the lord.

Hi Mr Anthony,I just want to say thank you so much.
This morning, I asked for forgiveness and gave my life to Jesus and i’m so so happy that I did.
I was just sitting alone, reading my Bible, I read John 3, 16 again and I felt something really stong and I just started praying, and that’s when I asked God to come into my life forever.
I can’t help thinking that if it wasn’t for your book, I probably would never have discovered the Lord in this way, so again, thank you.
I really want to grow spiritually, so could you recommend anything, like books or Christian gatherings or something, so that I can try to help my friends to come to Jesus too.
Thank you and may God bless you.

Hi Tony,One of my friends gave me your book ” Taming The Tiger” as my birthday
present. It really made a good reading. I couldn’t put down the book
once I started the first page, I was really moved by your story of how
you have been transformed by religion.I have a question though, you were bad tempered and jailed in the
notorious Cyprus prison. Life must have been really tough and dark, how
long did it take for you to believe in God?I really admire the mindset you had had at that time, some people are
too depressed and even give up their life when there is a
complicated unsolved issue lays before them, but you have the
perseverance in the presence of God, and made that your life turning point.Anyway thanks for wrting this book it really inspires me!!
Cheers,
Chin Liang

Hi
I attended the ‘Taming the Tiger’ meeting in Bournemouth on Saturday and would just like to say it was the most inspirational talk me and my husband have ever heard. I am desperate for my non christian parents to hear this talk and would love any information you can give me about the nearest talk that Tony is doing in the UK to Bournemouth.
I look forward to hearing from you and god bless you and all your volunteersMrs Haylie Saunders

Hi Tony
In the attachment you can see a comment on Hyves (a popular internet community in the Netherlands – a bit like MySpace or Facebook, 5 million members and more popular than Google in our language area!!).Let me give you a translation of what this guy (his name is DAVE) wrote, because this will make your day!
I want you all to read this book. If you’ve been to Opwekking last year, you must have heard Tony Anthony’s story.

Also because of this book I started to believe. Sometimes I was crying in the bus while I was reading this book.
A girl in the bus asked me why I had tears in my eyes. Then I told her that this was because of the book. She didn’t believe in Jesus, but she decided to buy this book anyway.
Now she is a believer too, and nobody in her cirle of friend was able to believe/understand this – even her parents couldn’t understand.
This book works miracles, believe me…What about that?
Blessings from your brother in Christ

Dear Tony Anthony,I am uncertain about whether you will get this message but I thought it would be worth a try to write you an email.
I wanted to say thankyou. I have never been so inspired by a true life story, I am amazed by someone wanting to spread the word of God, so remarkably. I turned to christianity because of certain things that have happened in my life, of course none of which match up to the events happening in yours. You came to our school today, and reduced me to tears, but tears because your story touched my heart.
I hope you carry on to tell your story, and the story of God.
I thankyou.

Tony,
I’m sorry I’ve not been in touch sooner. I attach for you a review of your
visit to our College on 2nd October as you requested. It will be going
into our College Newsletter too.
Thankyou for speaking to our students and staff. The way you shared the
gospel message I felt was tactful yet uncompromising at the same time. A
number of students, in their reviews, have talked about the ‘perfect soul’
part – that appears to have really stuck with a few of them and has made
them think.
Here are some other extracts I thought you might like to read:‘Before I was a sceptic but after his story it made me not want to go to
hell and even though I’m still a sceptic it pushed me towards being a
theist a bit more’. Dani Yr9‘Despite being a theist he never shoved his views down our throats and was
respectful to other religions unlike other theists I have seen on TV.’
Jack Yr9‘When Tony Anthony said about him looking into the cell window and looking
at God I thought was the best memorable thing of his visit.’ Adam Yr9God Bless you and thankyou Tony for your faithful witness. Seeds are being
sown and watered among the students here.Hope to see you again at Bishop Perowne n the future.

i am from destiny church in glasgow. I have heard tony speak on previous visits to glasgow. Once again i feel encouraged and inspired to reach out to others and share the transforming love of jesus. I was also really inspired by jamies story. I would love to hear from the strong, godly women who are married to these men – im sure they have some gems of wisdom to share. Please extend my thanks to tony for praying for my husband. God bless.
Hello, My name is michael and i live in Auckland, New zealand, Last week i bought your book, taming the tiger, I finished it within five days and it was a truly remarkable story, But the reason i am emailing you is to say thank you, Your story really open something up inside me and made me fully realise some truths about god and the plans he has for us, Especially the parts where you were talking with people and they recounted how they were looking for some kind of message or vision, When they had in fact already experienced it without knowing, That was a major question in my life also, But after reading the book, It suddenly all made sense to me and because of that i knew i was was ready to dedicate myself to jesus, Last night i went to a meeting with a new zealand evangelist John Subritzky and took the altar call, It felt so right and he also spoke on some of the things that you mentioned thus i knew it was right for me to step up and accept him as my lord and saviour publicly, So once again, I would like to thank you for producing a fine book and telling your story..
Yours in god..
Michael..
God bless.
Hi Tony,
I just wanted to let you know, I recently read your book and thought it was fantastic. My brother, who is a christian and who also began his own outreach service/charity called House of Heroes, lent me the book a couple of months ago. I am not a big reader but i could not put it down. Although i am not a practising Christian and i have to admit, do not live my life by the way of the bible, i thought the message behind the book was fantastic. I found it so powerful that someones life could be so touched by God, and it was so interesting to see an insight in to the christian world. The giving, the selflessness, the caring and many other things.
The book made me laugh, weep and feel things i never have before, well done!!
regards
Adam
Good Evening Tony
You don’t know me, but you may remember a group of people in the waiting room of the Abbotsford Hospital in British Columbia Canada on August 12th. You we leaving the hospital when you said “Hi” and walked by, then all of a sudden you turned around, looked at me, and said “You were waiting here when I came in weren’t you”, and I replied “Yes, and yesterday too”. You then took your book out of you bag and gave it to me saying “My name is Tony Anthony, I was a world Kung Fu Champion, and this book is my story, you may enjoy reading it while you wait”. Well I started reading it immediately, and finally finished it yesterday, I’m not a fast reader. This is probably only the 5th book I have ever finished reading. Your story is fascinating and hit the spot for me. We were in the hospital on and off since Friday, August 10th with our Son-in-law (Armando). On Friday afternoon he was at work (He manages a Tim Horton’s in Chilliwack) and collapsed onto the floor. In a few seconds he was having what looked like a seizure. He was rushed by ambulance to the Chilliwack hospital, and was in the emergency until around 7:30 that evening. During that period he had around a dozen more seizures, but they said there was nothing wrong with him, and released him. His Wife, Cheryl (Our Daughter) is 7 months pregnant, and we decided it was not good for them to go home alone, and took them home to our house. During the balance of the evening, he had another few seizures before going to bed around 10:00 pm. Our daughter got up to go to work on Saturday morning, and he was having another seizure then, we brought him upstairs to the family room where he relaxed on the couch, and in a few minutes he had another. She went off to work and Dorothy (My wife) and I took watch over him from then on. He had another 3 or 4 seizures in short order, and we decided to take him back to emergency in Abbotsford, He stayed there until around 4:30 pm, during which he had probably another 20 seizures (Spells as they now call them). They called a “Social Worker” to talk to him when we were out having a coffee, and when we got back, around an hour later, they released him, saying “He never had any spells when you were gone”, basically saying it was our fault for causing stress in his life. They then released him saying that there was nothing wrong with him, but doubled the medication that the Chilliwack hospital put him on. We took him home, only for him to have about 4 – 6 more seizures before he went to bed. He slept well, and woke up on Sunday morning very tired. He almost immediately had another 2 seizures before taking his medication. He then rested for around an hour before having another few. My wife then left to pick up something for him to drink that had electrolytes in it, so he could have some energy. By the time she got home, Armando had a few more seizures, and had stopped breathing several times. He then stopped breathing too long for my comfort, and took way to long to start again. We called 911 and the ambulance arrived in a few minutes. He was seizing quite violently now as the paramedics worked on him to calm him down. The brought him to the Abbotsford hospital again, and he was admitted finally for observation. That was Sunday when you met us in the waiting room. We were all quite exhausted by this point, and had lost our faith in the medical system. Our faith in God was boosted when you stopped and gave me the book. The first thing my wife said was “That man was God’s Angel”. I was immediately touched by your caring glance, and that you took the time to stop and give me the book. I was sitting there with my Wife, Son, Daughter, and Daughter-in-law, but it felt as if you had focused on me specifically. I was under a lot of guilt at that point as I had on the previous weekend got quite upset with my son-in-law, and felt it was me that had put him into this position. In reading your book, I began to realize again that God has forgiven me a long time ago for all my sins, and this is something that we have to use to become stronger. I and my wife were both brought up in Christian family, and have not had the ups and downs that you have experienced in you life. You have given us strength by helping us focus on God’s power, and realize that he is the ultimate healer.Armando came home on Friday, August 17th, and has not had another “Spell” since August 16th. His mother, who is a real prayer warrior, was in Italy as this all happened, and came home on Thursday. Before she left, she had a whole village in Italy praying for Armando. Most of them were not believers, but she told them, “You watch, by the time I get home on Thursday, my God will have healed my Son”. As soon as she got home, she called her friends back in Italy and let them know the good news.
We are now all thankful Armando is home, they have taken his drivers license away, and given him 10 weeks off work. The finally diagnosed it as “Stress Related” and based a lot of it on the General Manager back at his work. She would not allow him to call in sick, and expected him to call in every day, even when on holidays, to make sure the store was running well. She has since been dismissed. We are all trusting that God will continue to show us the way to help Armando, and our entire family, to deal with stress in our lives. We know that this happened for a reason, and all know that someday we will be able to look back and see it so clearly.
Thank you again for taking the time to stop and give me your story, my wife and all my children are lined up to read your story next. Gods blessing in your ministry, and if you are ever back in Abbotsford, I would love to buy you lunch. Our Business is Abbotsford Printing Inc.

Dear Brother Tony,
I met you briefly last night at the romford re:gen thing that you spoke at. Brother, this is a heartfelt encouragement, you are a man many aspire to be like, yet you have walked a path I would wish upon no-one. I realised something: God has treated you completely like a son, and I now know what it means when the Bible says about God’s discipline toward us being Fatherly. Because you have been so willing and God has humbled you so profoundly, because he knew he wouldnt lose you through it. And what a wonderful son he has. Please continue to speak boldly of Jesus in even those little congregations, God did great things!Let me share something with you to remind you of God’s supremecy and divine will at work last night. Me (ash) and my friend (carl) who came from Ilford to see you, met two brothers last night. One was saved recently and the other went up after your call for prayer. The first brother my friend recognised from last year, because he, and some of his gang approached our youth group whilst in the park last summer with weapons like broken bottles. They requested our baseball bats and Carl asked the young guys in the youth to hand them over. He thentold them that we were from the church and that he didnt want to fight them, but instead blessed them and said that he (and the youth) would pray for their gang later. The confused gang shouted abuse but then left. Our youth prayed that if even one might be saved through this encounter it would be worth it. And he was, the main guy with the bottle had brought his brother to see you talk last night, and his brother was saved. His name is Anthony, i forget his brothers name, but pray for them both please.
Even more amazingly, the brother who was saved last night I knew from a similar incident. When i was about 17 in college, I had decided to follow Jesus but was having a seriously bad day, that night three boys from the estate came walking with me and chatting. To shorten a long story one of them swiped my mobile and ran. I was furious and grabbed the other two (as i was much bigger) I took them to the phone box. The police couldnt do much and in my anger I swore vengance. They promised to get my phone, but i heard nothing. I went to the estate with a large knife and a club. 30 boys would not approach me, but as i stood there in rage, a strange thing happened, the conviction of the Holy Spirit fell upon me. I realised I should love these guys and they were just like me, they needed Jesus to help them. I walked away before any confrontation and prayed for God to deal with my long lasting anger issues and forgave those guys asking that Jesus may come and meet them. He did! The other brother was one of the young men who robbed me, and last night he was saved. Praise God. I must go now, but would like to email you again sometime if you are not too overloaded. God bless you and be with you in all you are doing, He is so wonderful!!
Your brother in Christ,
Ashlee
Hi There,
I don’t know if I have contacted the right place but have been meaning to email for ages so thought I would give this email address a go.
I just wanted to say a huge thank-you to Tony Anthony and all the people who helped with his NZ tour earlier this year. At the time I have only been to Church a couple of times and more so out of curiosity then anything else. I did have neighbours who went to Church though and ended up going along to see Tony Anthony speak at the Founders Theatre in Hamilton.
Towards the end of the night Tony asked if there was anyone in the audience who was ready to ask Jesus into there hearts to go up the front, I was one of those people (although I was a bit of a whimp and had to ask my neighbour to come with me – which of course she did) anyway, becoming a Christian has made a huge difference in my life and I just wanted to say thank-you for the part that that night played in my journey.
I decided to get baptised, and so on the 9th of September 2007 the Church (Te Awamutu Bible Chapel) that I have now become a regular at had a baptismal service and was baptised. My parents came along (they dont normally go to Church either) and really enjoyed it.
Anyway, I wont go on, but please if it is at all possible if you could pass this on to Tony, and all the other people involved I would greatly appreciate it.
Thank you and God Bless!
Andrea
Dear Tony,
I hope this finds you and your family well. Last week I gave out my last copy of Taming The Tiger to a prisoner who had just come to Christ and I thought it high time I should write to thank you for the way you have blessed us here at Waikeria Prison in the course of your ministry. Every book I give out is stamped ‘Waikeria Chaplaincy’ and I chuckle that very few of these books ever return to me. From talking to the men I am sure every copy that you gave us has been read by 10 or more prisoners and continues to be passed around or taken on to other prisons. As I have given out 70 books so far that equates to a staggering number that have read about the Gospel, your testimony and the power of the Holy Spirit in your life. The feedback from prisoners and officers alike has been very powerful and the impact of both your visits, generosity and testimony will be far reaching and long lasting. A man who came to Christ in the At Risk Unit several months ago is now thriving in a normal Unit, attending church, bible studies and doing correspondence studies as well. I had him up in my office for 2 hours last week as he shared the impact of Christ in his life with me. I gave him a copy of your book at the beginning of his walk and he told me that this was the most powerful book he’d ever read and that he received great healing as he worked through it, identifying with some of the issues you faced. He too was military trained to kill and was destined to work in Diplomatic Protection earlier in his life.
A number of men comment that they also found common ground with some things you went through and this helped them in their battles.
An officer I know well, a black belt karate Buddhist also shared with me recently that your book has made a big impact on him and he’s now recommending it to prisoners in his wing. (Can you find me another copy padre?) I did!
During your last visit I was sitting down the back with a group of prisoners as you gave your presentation. You may recall the Unit, one of the hardest at Waikeria, and predominantly gang members. A man next to me turned and said in my ear ‘compared to him we’re just fakers padre.’
My purpose in writing Tony is to thank you for being faithful in your service to the Lord, to encourage you to continue in which ever way that the Holy Spirit leads you and to know that your humility and generosity of spirit has caused prisoners here and elsewhere to be able to find strength and direction in their own lives. You will always be welcome here and the team are grateful for your two visits to our prison.
So take care my friend, wishing you every blessing from the Lord for all your family,
Yours in Christ,
Alan
This book works miracles, believe me…
What about that?
Blessings from your brother in Christ
Dear Tony, thanks for writing down your story. I just finished Taming the Tiger. (in Dutch) And I’m glad, that the Lord did these great things in your life! I’m longing for the same kind of experience in my own life. I didn’t surrender yet, because of sins from the past. It’s hard to talk about it. It’s a secret since 1999, and I miss the courage to talk about it! It will cause prison for me and I’m so afraid for it! I don’t dare to tell my relatives in fear to lose them! I would like to ask you to pray for me! Thanks for that.
Regards, André (NL, Rotterdam)
Tony,
My name is Ken. I am a Grade 9 teacher in Brisbane, Queensland Australia. I just want to express my appreciation to you for your wonderful book. it is quite difficult finding gripping books for this particular age group. I read your book to them almost daily. They loved it and always wanted more when it was time to stop. Your book opened up many opportunities for discussions with the students. Many of the students I teach do not come from Christian homes and were very impacted from your book. I read your book to my last year students and they were also impacted. Only the Lord knows what fruit has come from your incredible testimony. We so desperately need godly heroes and my students hold you in such high regard. I have also personally been greatly moved by your testimony. So we just want to say a BIG THANKYOU! Never stop sharing your incredible journey. Is your story available on video or DVD? I know you are a very busy man but would you take time to email a greeting to the Grade Nine students of Parklands Christian College. May God bless you and your family with His presence and His love always.
Ken
Dear Tony,
I have just finished reading your most inspiring book Taming The Tiger. It’s a truly remarkable story, an amazing testimony of the power of God’s love and grace. I’ve read and heard the stories of the remarkable and miraculous conversions of people like Nikki Cruz, but your story is in a sense even more amazing. Thanks for making the decision to write it so that many people would be blessed and encouraged.I’m a blind person and I read the braille copy of your book sent from Torch Trust For The Blind, Leicershire, UK. I’m involved in the ministry to the blind and visually impaired in Malaysia. My wife and I have been actively involved in this ministry for more than 25 years. In fact, about 5 years ago I wrote a book called God’s Dream, My Destiny, a book of teachings and personal testimonies.
Continue to serve the Lord faithly, and He will bless many lives through you. As you reach out to the countless lost souls, you will experience more of His love and power.
May The Lord richly bless your ministry and family. In Christ,
Ray.

Dear Tony,
Just last year, you visited my school and told us about your life story. I was greatly touched and amazed after hearing your life story. It was because of you that sparked of that flame of God in me. Me listening to your life story was the first step in my christian life. After hearing you speak, i decided to buy your book and from there things just started to happen. God seemed to be controlling everything that revolved around me. It wasn’t long before my friend invited me to his church where i accepted Jesus as the saviour and as the lord. Althought it isn’t easy being the only chirstian in a family of free thinkers, God has been with me. There were times where i swayed and there were times that my faith were strong as ever. However throughtout the past one year, God has really blessed me in so many ways. I would like to thank you for what you have been doing and i sincerely hope that you will continue doing what you do because you have been changing lifes. Thank You so much for what you have done.
God bless,
Marcus

Hi Tony
Thank you for an amazing meeting at Littledown Centre, Bournemouth on 19th. July. My wife and I took our ex-neighbours Howard and Karen along and they enjoyed the evening – Karen went forward after the meeting had finished and picked up a bag of literature. We then all went out for dinner and discussed the evening – we are praying for them both to get gloriously saved. The evening was very challenging and I thought it was tremendous that your power-point presentation was available in booklet form in the bag.I have since devoured “Taming the tiger” and my wife is reading it before passing it onto Karen.
In your book is Richard Knox the Dick Knox with a trombone who I would have met in Cyprus in the early sixties when I visited my parents in Larnaca as an 11 year old ( He was involved with the American Community Church in Nicosia then )?
My parents were SASRA missionaries to H.M.Forces in Cyprus in Larnaca 1960 – 64 and later in Limassol in the seventies.
Did you have contact with an Icthus church in Cyprus in Limassol led possibly by Andy Parnham? Which church was your fantastic friend Michael Wright associated? We praise God for his willingness to visit you.
We know Alan and Irene Kirkham from our days in Guildford at first the Millmead Centre and then at Guildford Park Evangelical church – it was a surprise to find them in your book!
Liz and I are members of Citygate Church, ( New Frontiers ). We are leaving for 2 weeks holiday in Cyprus on Wednesday to stay with dear friends who have relocated there to help with the New Frontiers church in Larnaca.Thank you again Tony for sharing your adventure with God with us – we pray that you and Sara are used even more mightily in the days ahead and see an even greater harvest for the King.
Yours
Jonathan and Liz

Dear Tony,
I have just finished your book ‘Taming The Tiger’ and all I can say is…….. it has taken my breath away.
Your testimony has blown me away! I feel like my passion for Christ has been re-lighted. Our GOD is just INDESCRIBABLE!
I became a christian just over 4 years ago. When you were describing how you gave your life to Jesus in the prison, I totally related to it. I too had a dramatic change. I wanted to give up on my life so many times but God saved me. He resucued me from the pit of despair and gave me life.
It seems so long ago since that day but God has done mighty things in me. I am forever grateful.
Thank you for sharing your story…….for seeking God….for being honest about your mistakes and your brokeness. It has humbled me so much.
God BLess.
Sophie
Dear Tony,
Recently, I read your “autobiography”, Taming the Tiger. How wonderful it was! I myself am a Christian and Martial Artist (Tae-kwon-do), and particularly enjoyed the parts in the book about your training. It makes my training sound like nothing, though it certainly doesn’t feel like nothing sometimes!
You’re time in prison sounds awful, yet amazing! How wonderful to have been converted in this way, though I think it was a shame that you had to experience an extreme to come to Jesus.
Your life after prison was particularly amazing in the book, as you were so eager to evangelise to the youth of today. The way you converted some of the toughest prison members to Christ was absolutely amazing! It must have been amazing to watch everyone suddenly being nice and worshiping and praying!
Thank you once again for providing me and many others with such a great book to read about you, but also about Jesus!

Tony,
Just to let you know that 6 of the people who were baptised last night, testified that they had given their lives to the Lord when you were preaching. Praise the Lord.

Hi Tony,
Just thought I’d write a short email with some FANTASTIC NEWS!!!! I showed my year 5 class a DVD from when you were here in 2006, this afternoon. They really enjoyed listening to your testimony! The DVD stopped though just as you were about to pray with the people who went up for the altar call. The class turned to look at me, worried that they wouldn’t be able to pray!
I led them in prayer and 9 children gave their hearts to the Lord! Praise God for His goodness, mercy and grace!
God bless!
Lisa
“Mister Tony, may God bless you.
I give thanks to God that gave me the chance to read one of your works “Cry of the Tiger”.I come from Cameroon, I’m a child of God, new-born Christian, and this book scared me at first but at the end I understood that God has a plan for you. I can assure you that this testimony affected me and gave me a new courage to do evangelism.
My prayer is that God gives you strength and give you the chance to continue to share this testimony everywhere in the world. May God fill you with His peace and your group as well.
I would like to know more about you and your ministry.”Translation by Juliane.
Dear Brother Tony,
I am for a business trip in Finland at the moment. To support my well being during the trip and to relax a little bit I bought your book Taiming tiger.I just finished the book. I want to thank you for creating this book. It touched my soul and brought me to tears.
There is so much recognition in your stories. Although I have had a very ‘decent’ life, meaning no Kung Fu, jail etc, I really feel what you have been going through. So many situations in which I go my way, instead of listening to God.
I am already Christian for quit some years. Your book brought me back to the basics. Your book is having the same impact as after I finished the book of Randy Alcorn ‘safely home’, about the chinese guy in prison, but so close to God.
A few years ago you were the special guest in our church, The Bethel, in Drachten the Netherlands. I now feel sorry that I have not been attending this sermon to listen to your story.
It would be nice to meet you one time, to encourage each other to listen to God through the Holy Ghost.
Brother Tony, please let yourself be used by God to spread the good news! You encouraged me to intensify to do the same.
May God bless you and your ministry.
Greetings from Holland,
Edwin
Dear Tony
I have just read your book Taming The Tiger and i want you to know I’m going to tell people about you and use your story to help them come to Christ.
I will also tell them how you inspired me to be a better person, and to always persevere in faith. Your story has inspired me to become a better person, thankyou. From Natalie.
Dear Tony
I have just finished reading you book taming the tiger. I found some of the experinces you wrote about very similar to experinces i have be through. It held put things in perspective. I like you started with a “hobby” boxing when i was a young person and i loved it but it soon started taking over my life i started enjoying the violence inside and outside the ring. I then moved into doing close protection where i was opperating in Iraq. Everything in my life was going along great. I thought i had turned over a new leaf stopped being agressive. met a lovely girl and got married. Then on 11 may this year i was envolved in an IED where i was injured fairy bad. I thought how could this happen to me know that i had changed my life around. It only took a couple of day to realise how much it has been a blessing i have had all this time to spend with my wife Anne.Who gave birth to our daughter (summer marie) in july. If i had still been fit to work i would not have been there for our daughter. Reading your book about being broken and finding the lord really hit home. I am truly greatfull i try to share my story with people. i just wanted to email you to say thank you for you book it helped explane things.
Take Care
Chris
Hi Tony,
My names Ron, just wanted to say like many others who have found your story life changing, and an awsome example to relate to. It has a certain message which speaks volumes to my heart. I expect you get replies like this all the time but never get sick of them because of the great joy they bring ya
,I just wanted to say you’ve had an impact in my life and i’m greatful for meeting you in my walk as a follower of christ.(even though I wasn’t aware of it at the present time haha).
Just finished reading your book this very day, i’m overjoyed to hear what your doing in your community and pray that it is continuing to help you grow in your faith for the Lord brother.
P.S (I’ve always had it in my heart to visit England one day but never really knew why, but I know that the closer I draw to God each day the clearer it will become.”I love that blind faith stuff”, reminds me who my real faith is in…)
Thanks for your ears bro

Hi Tony,
One of my friends gave me your book ” Taming The Tiger” as my birthday present. It really made a good reading. I couldn’t put down the book once I started the first page, I was really moved by your story of how you have been transformed by religion.
I have a question though, you were bad tempered and jailed in the notorious Cyprus prison. Life must have been really tough and dark, how long did it take for you to believe in God?
I really admire the mindset you had had at that time, some people are too depressed and even give up their life when there is a complicated unsolved issue lays before them, but you have the
perseverance in the presence of God, and made that your life turning point.Anyway thanks for wrting this book it really inspires me!!
Cheers,
Chin
Dear Tony Anthony,
Thank you for writing your story in your book. Jesus is ALLMIGHTY.
We, my wife Chris, Ben 14 and Tom 12, live in Belgium. Some years ago we met David Hamilton, a former Irish terrorist. His story reminds me of yours. You probably read his book.
As a business man I met business people from Israël, just after we had bought your book. They told me they are also into these martial things. They knew your name from these world championships.
I did some aikido for a short while, so that helped me to understand it a little bit better.
In the midle of September I go to a dairy fair in Birmingham. Hopefully I can go to Portsmouth as well to see some old friends. On the Hard 16-18 we helped to construct the Genesis Expo there; this is a museum to give glory to our Creator. Entrance is free.
May the Lord bless you and your family.
Best regards,
Ferdy.
Hi Mr Anthony,
I just want to say thank you so much.
Amy
Hello Tony.
My name is Pte. Theo and I am a 26 year old South African Christian, currently serving in HMF ‘The Parachute Regiment’, 3rd Battalion as a Commenwealth Soldier. My Battalion is currently on opperation in Afghanistan for a 6month tour on OP HERRICK 8 ( I’m sure you are femilliar with these terms). We are based at ‘KAF’ (Kandahar Air Field in te provinse Kandahar in Afghanistan.)
That was just to give jou a basic idee of who I am Tony. My fiance sent me your book ‘Taming the Tiger’ and I have just finished reading your amazing book and true life story. I just want to thank you and Jesus for making it possible for me to learn about your amzing life story.
Tony, your book and testemony made me realise, once again, what a great gift whe have been given by Jesus as new borne Christians. You, with the help of Christ gave me new ‘fual’ to speak about Jesus more open to people in a place like this and for that I’m most greatful.
It would be an honour for me to hear from you Tony and I would like to keep in touch with your ministrie for more inspiration on how to be a ‘light in the darknes’.
Thank you Tony and I hope to hear from you soon.
Regards
Pte. Theo
Hi Tony and Sara,
My name is Eva.I just finished to read your book. I first heard you on TV,in “Zone e Lire” show in Albania.I am from Albania and now I’m serving God in Kosovo with CCC,Campus Crusade For Christ ministry which is an organization that has a purpose to share the gospel with the students and help them to know Christ more as they get involved in bible studies. The reason why I am writing is to greet you about this book, but most of them to tell you that you have touched my heart with this.I have cried, laughed and praised God through all the reading of the book.I want to tell you that for sure you have touched and helped a lot of people to know God,and to love Him, but you have to know that you have touched my heart too.My pray is that this book will accomplish the reason why you wrote it and mostly that God will use it in the heart and life of everyone who will read it.
I don’t know if I will ever have the chance to meet you but I know that in haven I will have the privilege to talk to you and give God thanks and praise for our lives. You and you family will always be in my prayer. My heroes in bible are David and Paul, but know I have also another hero for his faith and heart for the Gospel, and that’s you my brother.I am honored to call you brother and Sara sister.I don’t know you personally but it’s like I have known you,and cried with your suffer.Praise God for His love among his children.
I have to ask for a big favor…if I can have a picture of your family so I can hang it on my prayer corner and pray for you.
Be blessed my friends and may God’s love flow from your heart more than ever, more than before.
In His love,
Eva
Dear Sarah
Just to says thanks for everything you all did for us this last weekend. The response to both events has been wholly positive, as you should start to see on the website (we’ve now included a page for feedback). Sunday evening was thrilling in that so many came from a vast cross section of churches and many went away enthused for next year and others challenged about their own relationship with the Lord.In my assessment thought the response to Saturday was even more significant. I haven’t spoken to one person yet who isn’t now wanting to get the actual gospel to their friends rather than just witnessing to them! So we’ll be ordering a load of the booklets ASAP.
You’ll love this bit – My two oldest, Charlotte (15) and James (12) who were both there on Saturday, went to school on Monday and talked to their friends about becoming their need to become a Christian. Charlotte gave her friend one of the books to read. I came home from work on Tuesday to be met at the door with ‘You’ll never guess what Dad, …. became a Christian last night when she read the book!’. Then Jamie say to me ‘And dad, ….. (the lad he’d been talking to) became a Christian last night as well’!! How cool is that!
I’ve included an email (below) from a Pastor (who is also a good theologian/Bible scholar). I’m hope it will encourage you all. (And his one concern/exception can give you something to tweak!)
Anyway, didn’t come on to be long, but just wanted to encourage you with this and to say thanks again and looking forward now to getting things in place for April.
God bless
Stuart
Well what can I say about Saturday. Since then I’ve been down to Essex twice wearing a wig and false beard etc…
No seriously. When I heard Tony speak last year I wondered where he was theologically(Good Pharisaic mindset!!!) but it was hard to figure out given that in our evangelism we all appear Arminian. So I came along with some reservations. Although longing that God might move me and then move me to move a church. I have always been pegged as a bible teacher and that is more where my gifting lies but I long for opportunities to share the gospel, I long to do the work of an evangelist.
The content of the things shared was absolutely great, with one exception(didn’t add that bit just to be dificult, rather honest). It is not often that a speaker can move me to tears but when Tony was speaking about the collapse of the great commission in the west, he’s come closer than any other speaker I’ve ever heard. If that doesn’t move us to action I’m not sure anything else could. There were times when he seemed to speak more with the authority of a prophetic to his generation for such a time as this. Everything that was shared was great with that one exception. The sources that were used were so broad, in terms of the theological spectrum, that no-one could not have agreed with the point being made that was true wisdom!!
The true genius of his stuff was redifining words and phrases over which the semantic range has clearly been controlled by the devil. In the end Tony was simply saying what Scripture says, which left us alone with God and His will. Do I say yes Lord or no chance!!!
Also the seven steps to get going were excellent in that they told you the answer to the ‘how’ question. But words are but words! I hope and pray that they bear fruit. For me, well I’ve been out yesterday purchasing gospel and tracts,as well as ordering them on-line. Even if it means going to Essex I am going somewhere to share this gospel with those outside the flock at BRBC.
Let me just add the one exception. Please hear this as it’s intended, not critical in a negatve sense, if the same conference was to be run tomorrow I would go again!!! When the lady speaker tried to link gospel proclaimation and life together I think that perhaps she was trying to do something that Scripture wouldn’t easily accommodate, at least not Mark 8: 35. To link the gift of life with one’s proclaiming of the gospel is to move the fountain of life from the person of Christ and move it to the place of our obedience. Now I’m not saying the point that she was trying to make was adrift, since it is in walking in obedience to Him that we enjoy Him so much more, but she seemed to overemphasise the point toward a kind off ‘if you preach the gospel you will have full-ness of life, if you don’t you will have no life’ type idea!! So full’ness of life is found in an act rather than in the enjoymeny of the Person of God. I think that if the obedience angle where worked a little more and gospel proc. drawn from it the points would stand unassailed, but if she were to teach that in certain circles my intense fear would be that they would ignore everything that was said simply on that one point.
I hope and pray that this teaching gets to every part of Christ’s church in the west, it will be like water falling on thirsty ground. I am planning on teaching the whole thing to BRBC throughout January, I have already warned them that’s it’s coming…..
Stuart thank you so much for putting that day togther, I ope and pray that it will indeed be proven to have been a turning point in my walk with Him whom my soul loves, I truly felt that the day was all directed just for me.
I am sorry to take your valuable time, but I wanted to write you. I think you are a busy man, and that this e-mail will maybe never been read. If yo read this one day, please mail me back, Mr Anthony.
I am a 16 year old Belgian boy, my name’s Kenneth.
I read Taming the tiger, your atobiography (in french), because i got nothing else to do…
A pastor gave it to my mother, to make me read it, because i love reading… And the story of your life changed mine…
I was smoking drugs, doing nothing at school, and I loved fighting… Once, i broke someone’s leg because he was annoying me, a nose of some guy, someone’s leg,… And I liked that feeling I got everytime I was fighting…
I can speak English because my father was American, but he left me and my mother when I was like eight years old, and i think that if I saw him, even a few months ago, I’d Kkilled him…
The first time i prayed was Two days ago, three days after a fight after school, two days after being caught smoking drugs while school… I read a few lines of your book that marked me, then i read my mother’s Bible…
I will use your book, your lifestory (I don’t know if this word exists) for a school work, in religion klass, and talk about avantiministries to my teacher.
But the first reason I wrote to you is to thank you, to show you my respect, because your book made me take concience of what i was becoming… I was violent, drugged, and did the most stupid thins at school and to my parents….
Thank you for making me change, because the words I read in your book are now writtten in my soul, in my mind.
I wish you a happy life with Sara, Ethan and Jacob, and God bless you,
Kenneth
Hi Tony,
I heard you tell your story on Its A New Day on TV. I usually skip over lots of them because they dont really have “much to say”, but it was in the middle of the program and you were on and right away I felt you had somethingn to say. Ive since read your book partly because you said George Verwer was promoting it. I know quite a bit about him and was sure I would read it. Now I too am buying and giving your book to friends!!I have spent a few years recently in Taiwan and think it would be good to translate your book into Chinese. Im sure youve already thot about this, I would like to know what you think about that.
Also, my daughter read it and was interested to know what “chi” is and why you renounced your expertise in marchal arts.
Your book is very inspiring!! May you and your family have a great ministry!! Blessings Pete
Tony may God bless you,Idon’t know english very well but I will try to write in english,I am ayoung Ivorian and Ihave read your book,I don’t know what to say about it,really Jesus dead for all,and I am very happy for you and I sheared tears for joy the day I finished reading the book,Iam in a french speaking country and I learnd english in school and Iam also serving GOD
Dear Tony,
I just wanted to say a huge thankyou again for coming to speak to our Year 9 and 10 students yesterday at Bishop Perowne. Your visit has certainly made an impact. I’ve had pupils come up to me to tell me what page they’re up to in your book and how much they are enjoying it – a Year 9 muslim boy is particularly grabbed by your book! As a follow up with my bottom set Year 9 I asked them to write up their response to your visit and how it affected them. I read a few and two of them said they had made a commitment and now had a ‘perfect’ soul! I’ve not read them all yet so there may be more.I’ve had some more requests for books though would it be acceptable if I contact you early next week with an amount, to give pupils a little more time to see me.
We would really like you to visit us again at Bishop Perowne. My Head of Department has asked me if this can be arranged for next year, the same sort of time in December? I understand you are very busy so whenever you are able to visit we would be delighted to accomodate you. I have emailed Paul Wilcox at W.A.S.P. to let him know too, in case I need to book you through him.
Thankyou Tony again, and Ray too, for giving up your time for the students
at Bishop Perowne.
God Bless you,
from Jan
Hi Tony,
I just wanted to write to you to show my admiration for what you do.
You came to my school in Essex more than three years ago an spoke of your story and gave us all a copy of your book.
To be honest at the time, i listened but wasn’t interested because i am a non-beleiver and saw it as being yet another trying to convert many for comfort.
I have only just read the book and well there’s no words to describe it. Although not a book worm, I became so engrossed in it, that i didnt want to stop reading, that I’d nearly burnt my flat down by not watching my cooking!
Although I went to a catholic school and went to a COE church for years i never have beleived in God. But for me, reading your story makes me realise how my life and the path I’m walking is where I’m meant to be an that I’d never feel like my life is ever worse than anyone else’s as there always is.
I’ve had some bad times like we all do, but we get through them. We have to. And it’s the ones that pull through and share their story with others that makes a difference. Although it hasn’t made me believe in God, It’s made me more positive in life to know that one day i’ll be helping people in my own way by using myself but almost promoting life rather than God.I wish you all the best.
Becky
Good afternoon Mr. Anthony.
Let me first introduce myself….My name is Jason. I am a 3rd year chemical engineering student studying at the University of Cape Town, South Africa.I recently had the honour to read your wonderful book (Taming the tiger). In actual fact I just completed the book now on my way home from university. Whilst reading I thought I should “google” you in hope to find a email address, and as I read the last page I saw your website and email details. I really was so glad!.
You are probably inundated with fanmail, however I hope you don’t see this as yet another fan. I am not much of a reader but after hearing my mom rave about your book I decided to give it a shot. I was glued from the very beginning. I have gone through some battles of my own, but it all seems so insignificant compared to what I have read about you. Your book has inspired me to strive to be a better Christian, despite the daily trails and temptations. I will be honest, sometimes my burdens seem insurmountable and even have tried to end my life (that was a few years ago, no one knew, and knows, about it).
There was once a time when I found my faith to be so strong, but then I started to experience failure and defeat, and without wanting to or even knowing, I slowly started to lose faith in the work of the Lord. I tried to live a good life, trusting in God and bringing all my problems before Him. I then began to question why God would allow me to fail and why He would allow bad things to happen to me. But I have learnt that being a Christian does not make your problems disappear, if anything the devil will try to tempt you and put hurdles in your path just to break you down, or even God teaching us something. I try my best to be a good Christian, however, sometimes when I am aware of my sins I cannot even pray and ask God for forgiveness in fear of Him being disappointed or even disgusted in me.
In essence im just thanking you for writing that book. It has been a blessing for me. My wish is that one day I could have an impact on someone’s life the way you have impacted mine.
God Bless.
Jason
Dear Tony Anthony,
My name is Damien and I live in London.
I had never heard of you before
I was given your book by a good friend when I made my confirmation four years ago.
I have always classed myself as a Christian, but as I grew into adulthood I tended to put other things before God. I have had a number of trial in my life, that would have tested the faith of many a man, but instead of turning to God I turned to drink and drugs. I was bitter and resentful having lost both my parents, a brother (who was murdered), a close cousin and a daughter all within two years. It was not until my second daughter became ill with cancer and I had to give up work to help my wife look after her and our two other daughters, did I finally find my way back to the church.
Your book has been an inspiration and I would like to thank you for sharing story with the world. I will take your story with me and share it with those who need to see Gods work in action.
God Bless
Damien
Hi Tony,
Thank you very much for your book – Taming the Tiger. It is a very encouraging book. I understand there are a lot of “comfortable” christian in the church today. I praise the Lord that you a one of those very few who are truly carrying out the great commission of our Lord Jesus – to spread the Good New to the end of the earth.Like you, a lot of things happen in my life that had taught me to understand what humility mean. I accepted the Lord at a young age but due to my selfish self, I slipped into the ‘wilderness for 21 years’.
Your book had encouraged me a lot. I would like to buy some for my ‘lost’ friends”. I wonder if you have any agent in Sabah selling your books. I would also like to have the other copy titled ‘The cry of the tiger’ which was sold out on the night in Yayasan Sabah.
God bless you abundantly in your work with HIM that more lost souls will be saved.
Regards,
Catherine
Hello,
I am a French girl of 17 and I am doing the (difficult) effort to write to you in english because i really want to tell you something…
Your book is amazing ! I know you probably heard it a thousand times but i had to say it anyway. I just want to say : thank you. I understood so many things that weren’t that clear by reading your story. It made me want to go further in my faith and to completly accept Jesus’ way of thinking and not mine (as i have a tendancy to follow my plans and not his…) I don’t want to forget about my decision to let him take control of my life ; and i know that your book is really helping me ! So thank you

Hello Tony,
I have no idea how to start this email, but all i know is that something is telling me to write to you.
I first heard your story on a cassette tape that was given to me by my sister, who is a born again christian and attends Lymm baptist church, she gave it me shortly after your visit there ( i think you visited Risley prison too). I was blown away by your story and i even bought your book (taming the tiger).
I have just finished reading it for the third time and wanted to say thankyou, i dont really know where my belief lies, most of my family are born again christians, yet dont ram it down my throat, my brother and i have similar views on this, but still something niggles me when i get invited to church, i feel tearful and lost, sometimes i pray, but if im honest its only
when i need something or feel lonely. I have many views but if shared you would be reading this next week. Im going to send your book to my brother who lives in New Zealand, who’s wife has just turned to the lord, as you can imagine my family are extatic. Thanks again Tony

To Mr Anthony,
A few years ago you visited my church youth group in Shoebury, shared your story with us and gave us each a copy of your book. I didn’t read it straight away, in fact I read it for the first time this week and since finishing it this morning, I can’t stop thinking about it and the stuff you said in it about Jesus.I’ve always gone to Church, but only because my mum’s always taken me and its just been routine and i’ve never really felt anything spiritually. It has just been something to do on a Sunday morning. But your book has really made me think about life, the mistakes that I regularly make and that i’d like to do something to sort it out, but your book has made me realise I can’t do it on my own and that I need the help of Jesus, not just now, but for ever, with everything I do.
I got hold of a Bible this afternoon and read some passages from John’s Gospel, the parts mentioned in the book. I am overwhelmed by the fact that Jesus was sent to die because God loves us that much, and I think I would really like to know Jesus better, and hopefully learn to live my life for Him, but i’m really not sure where to start and i’m still a bit confused.
I want to thank you for reading this and for all the help your book has already given me, and I would be really greatfull if you could reply, although I understand if you haven’t any time.
Thank you again, so much.
Amy

Dear Tony,
I felt compelled to write this email to you after completing your wonderful book Taming the Tiger today. It was given to me by my local vicar after I turned up on his door with nowhere else to turn to. I have not grown up in a Christian house or had any faith in God or Jesus but I needed forgiveness for recent actions, and that was the only place to go. I too know what violence and hate feels like, I needed to change my life and get on to a new path. Reading your book inspired me so much and helped me to realise that this is indeed the only way to peace and happiness.
Thank you for such an inspirational book. I only hope that I will learn to see Gods lessons through my pain and my path ahead will allow me to continue to grow.
God bless,
James

Hello! My name is Heidi and I am thirteen. I am Olivia’s older sister. I just wanted to tell you that I really appreciated it when you came to Saint-Georges in May. I am now rereading your book ” Taming the Tiger “. It really touched me. It shows that God can work in someone’s life in any way that he wants to. I also saw this in Mr. Osborn’s testimony. Thanks again for coming to Saint-Georges. I am praying for you and the other people in avanti ministries.

P.s. Is England kind of like Quebec in the weather and climate? I would love to go to England one day. I love history, and there is a lot of history in England!
Hello UK Team ! ☺
Something nice yesterday a tour church : We had 5 baptisms, two of them is Yanick Labrie and Elise de Grandmaison. Last year, Elise shared her faith to a working colleague Yanick ; then invited him at Tony’s event in 2010 at our church in Longueuil ; Yanick was a martial art adept ; he was really touched by Tony’s testimony … started coming to our church … discovered Jesus … accepted Him … and was baptized yesterday with Elise in the same time !
For me, it was a smile from God : Avanti ! Allez ! Go ! and make disciples !

Hello!!! My name is Olivia. I am 12 years old. My mom talked to you about her nephew in jail. And she wanted to send a book to him. Remember? Well I am that lady’s daughter. I liked the video about the boy and his father doing the marathon. I think the father really loved his son to do something like that. Can you send me a picture of the whole family? I will try to send one of my family sometime:-) I will pray for you and your family. When I saw your book, I told myself that even if it cost 80 dollars for The Eye of the Tiger, I would still buy it. I really wanted to read the book. Did you go to the royal wedding? I saw it on Youtube. It was nice. So how is it with a king and quenn or queen or whatever? We have a President instead of a king and queen. Is it dangerous to talk about Jesus in England? Is it a country that Christians can go in jail for talking about Jesus? I am really interested in you. I love love love the book The Eye of the Tiger. When I have a problem I don’t know how to solve, may I email you and see if you can help me??? I have a problem. I have 2 sisters. I am the middle one. My older sister doesn’t like the thing I like because she says they are to baby. My little sister likes barbies and dolls and thing like that. I often am bored. I never know what to do. Any suggestions??? Another problem is I am a christian but I don’t understand the Bible. I try reading it once in a while, but I don’t understand what they mean. The only book of the Bible I understand is Proverbs. Any suggestions??? This is the type of problems I will ask you for help if it is ok with you. I hope you have anice day and may God bless you:-) May you write back as soon as possible please? I need to read my Bible every day but I do not because I do not understand it. I would like to read my Bible every day and understand it. Thank you for everything:-)
Olivia

Hello, I have just finished reading your book, and I thank you for this great testimony. Jesus is our Lord.
May God bless you and your family, Claudine.
Hey Tony,
I’m a 17 year old girl from Germany and I just finished your book “Taming the tiger” (in german: “Den Tiger zähmen”). My friend bought it at the WILLOW Creek Congress in Düsseldorf last weekendend. So I borrowed the book after she has read during our bus ride back home.
Now I only want to say: Thanks a lot for your touching story!
I hope you, your wife and your children are fine.In the book you always amphazise that it’s so wonderful to be in contact with God by praying as much as possible. Therefore I ask you to answer me if you’ve got time and write me for which persons or prayers in your church, family or surroundings I could pray.
I’m looking forward to an answer and hope that my english is good enough
Yours sister in Christ, SvenjaAnd remember:
God loves you and does really great things with you, Tony!
Dear Tony,
This is Alice John from Bangalore. I attended your teaching on Evangelism on 8th May, 2011 in Adonai Church. I was blessed with your teaching. I am Janet’s elder sister and we 3 sisters (Ella, Janet and I) took a picture with you after the session.
Why I am writing to you is, I read your book ‘Taming the Tiger” and I could not keep it down. It took me 3 days to complete the book and was amazed at how God our precious loving Father took care of you so wonderfully. I really felt sad when you wrote, at the age of 4, how you were taken away from your parents, and how you were trained by your grandfather which led you to many difficult situations in life, but God kept watching over you. Today you are used by God in such a mighty way, that anyone reading your book will be convinced that God can change the vilest person to somebody wonderful and beautiful for His glory. I have passed the book to a young Catholic girl, her name is Manisha. Please pray for Manisha as she reads this book, also for her brother, Dheeraj and their parents, Sunita and Mahender. I am sure with this book they will be touched by God and experience Jesus’ love in their lives.
I cannot immagine the horrible experience you went through in the prison. What I liked in one of the chapters, when you were trying to write in plain simple English to some Polish prisonners, they thanked you for the language in Polish. I belive it is the power of our sweet Holy Spirit Who did language miracle. God’s ways are so mysterious but so wonderful.
Will pray for you, your family, your Ministry and all working with and for you.
God bless you.
Alice John
Dear Mr Anthony,
Thank you!
On Good Friday this year, I had the privilege to sit under your ministry at my church in Whitburn. I hadn’t read Taming the Tiger at that point (though I have now).
I want to encourage you that what struck my husband and myself was the humility flowing from and through you as you shared the LORD with us. It was clear to us you aren’t about yourself or your story and all you want is to introduce Jesus to those who don’t know Him and for those of us who do, to go deeper in our relationship with Him. We were thrilled with the clarity of your Gospel presentation (over the lsat few years very rarely have I heard such a clear explanation of God’s judgment, justice and love). Thank you.
Brought up in a Christian home I gave my heart to Christ as a tiny child. Growing up, arrogance and pride took root in my heart. I was hughely passionate about God but didn’t understand how unloving my heart was towards people – I was judgemental, ungracious etc etc. However, through a series of ill health situations and the shame of a divorce from a pastor who went off with a group of men, I was mercifully broken. I look back with shame on my life and rejoice at God’s amazing forgiveness. I now understand that the benchmark of my love of God is my obedience and this includes loving people unconditionally.
In sharing this wee testimony with you I wanted to let you know because of the previous condition of my heart recognising pride seems to be very easy. It therefore follows when encountering a person so consumed by Jesus to the point they are hardly visible because Jesus is so evident, it makes my heart rejoice. When Andrew Smith asked for feedback on the night both my husband and myself said the one thing we were totally overwhelmed by was the humility of a man who loves JESUS.
Please know I am pledging to pray for the ministry you have been called to and if you have a list of people to whom you send information for prayer would it be ok to add myself and my husband to that please?
God bless you, your wife and family richly. May you continue to take captive your thoughts and make them obedient to Christ. May you continue to prefer Him and the needs of others to those of your own.Laura Barnett

to save a time I’m just going to say that it was very encouraging and convicting. I hope to be able to go forth & preach the gospel(Good News) with more energy. It is a struggle to create good habits of reading the word and staying continually in prayer..I greatly enjoyed your book & godbless.

Hi Tony! First, my english is so bad…
I want to tell you about the conference at St-Georges de Beauce. I have understand something, something that I never understand before: Jesus IS the Lord. For the first time in my whole life, I have decide to give my life to the Lord, a thing than I probably never do if you had not come. This evening, I have understant my mistake. So let me tell you thank you for the message, which have touch my heart Today I’m so proud to say that I have accept the Lord in my heart and than I gave Him everything!
A last time Thank you So much!
I have never done this before, but I just wanted to bless you! I have just finished reading ‘Taming the Tiger’ and was lead here. I want to thank you for your incredible honesty throughout the book, there were so many points where God spoke to me through your words which left me crying and laughing all at the same the time. I love the Lord so much and feel he has reawakened something that had begun to settle a while ago, through your testimony. God is Good all of the time and I want that he will continue to reveal DAILY just how much he loves you all and that from a brokenness and understanding that when we are weak, his strength and awesomeness shines through. I pray you will always move in this place of love and intimacy with the him and that it would pour out from you to all those you meet who have yet to know God!
Bless you all
Vicky, East SussexThe youth in our church are just starting to read your book as is my fiance and his family- I can’t wait to see what revelations God will give to them and what happens as a result!

Dear Tony,
First of all please let me apologise that it has taken so long to write to you since you visited our school in March. Your visit was invaluable to our pupils’ school experience, both academically and spiritually.
We are extremely blessed that here in Scotland the government have introduced the “Curriculum for Excellence”. It is a curriculum that recognises the void within our young people and seeks to address this by giving them opportunity to “see faith in action”. You commented on this void directly during your presentation, referring to it as Michael Wright did, as a “God shaped hole”. The day after you spoke one of the young boys in my class (Josh, aged 15) gave his life to Christ. He has written you a letter and I would like to send it to you. He wrote in the letter that you have “opened his eyes” and that he wants to give his life to Christ. He wrote “I want to become a Christian”. I know that you share in my overwhelming joy; it is hard for me to articulate the joy that that moment brought me as his teacher.
I am so grateful to you for taking time to come and talk to our young people. Your visit on the Monday caused a real stir and sense of excitement, so much so that first thing on Tuesday morning I was met by a member of staff begging to have a copy of your book as all of the pupils had been raving about it. They told many of their teachers that it was amazing! Subsequently your testimony opened up lots of doors to talk to staff about faith and the goodness of God!
I know that you are incredibly humble and will give all the glory to God for these great things but I wanted to take the time personally to write and thank you for changing the lives of one pupil here at Wallace High School and for giving hundreds of other pupils the opportunity to hear the amazing news in a new, captivating and relevant way. As many of them have said since, “you are an inspiration”.
Thank you and I really do look forward to seeing you again.

Monsieur TONNY ANTONY,

Hi Tony,
Enjoyed your book which I read on my iPhone Kindle app.
Thought you might like this article.
It is a thoughtful treatment of self defence from a Christian perspective.http://www.boundless.org/2005/articles/a0002425.cfm
I would like to enrol, and encourage my son to enrol in a self defence course that is pragmatic and preferably taught with Christian values, not the values that you describe in your book that are so often associated with martial arts.
What or who do you recommend?
I live near Montreal Canada.

Dear Tony and Jamie,
Thank you so much for giving so much of your time, your testimony, and your vision during the visit to Germany. Your ministry has helped me to reflect upon my own small efforts in proclaiming the Good News amongst the young people I am privileged to serve. I hope this partnership with the Royal Army Chaplains’ Department will thrive in the years to come, and would warmly support the future involvement of the team in the military and in our schools.
I would love to receive PowerPoint presentations, written analysis or DVD of the event if at all possible for use with church/soldiers, but also because when I return from Afghanistan I hope to reflect upon and research the challenges of proclaiming faith to soldiers (as part of an MoD sponsored Masters in Chaplaincy Studies).
You both coped brilliantly with engaging with such an ecumenical and varied group of chaplains, and this was appreciated by all. Our mission team will meet on June 13 to debrief and to reflect upon how next to take forward the Great Commission.
Please pray for us, as we shall pray for you
With every blessing
Your friend in Christ
Peter
I was there at the conference at Granby, Quebec, Canada on May 14th and I heard about free video downloads in french and it doesnt work on the website.
Is it possible to get the power points of the conference ? It was so good and we want to get all the teaching. Can we have all the DVDs of the teaching, the 30 hours ? If yes, how much ?
I would like to have every thing you have in french and also the explanation guide for the presentation of the gospel with a paper (the cross and the word Hell), even if it’s only in english.
I want to order about 250 tracts of 50$ in French explanation of the gospel please.
Thank you very much !

Hi Tony
Blessings in our Lord’s mighty name!Just want to tell you my 85-year old mum is reading your Chinese version book and is so engrossed, she finds it hard to put it down! She says it’s “gan cheong” (which is Cantonese for “exciting”) and I think she’ll finish it in no time. Usually she’ll stop everything to watch the 5.30pm TV Mandarin news but today she said she had to finish off what she was reading in your book before tuning on to her favourite TV news.
I got 20 copies with me – hope to pass them out to both believers like my mum whom I have no doubt will be encouraged by your testimony and pre-believers.
Thank you for your amazing witness.

Hi,
My name is Eleni and I live in Belgium and I’m 14 years old and I live in a Christian family. I can not so good English but I will try. I read your wonderful book “Taming the Tiger” .
I found it a very good book. I wanted to send something because I sometimes have difficulty with the belief. I dared not to tell or ask someone I know personally because I am ashamed that I doubt. and in your book, I’ve seen a lot of work with young people and I hope you want help me: I try much in the Bible to read, but it seems that nothing happens with me. I don’t feel Jesus in my heart and I sometimes doubt my faith. I’m afraid I do not have enough faith but I want it very much. I want to follow Jesus and believe in him. but it’s so difficult to believe. Many people also say that God guidance in your life for what to do or not do. and what your talents are. but I don’t know what god mean with some clues and that it something means
So I have an example from my life.: I like football and I am now my first year at a football club. but always when I go play football, I have stress because I’m afraid I’m going to do something wrong and than they will laugh at me, and I find it difficult to make friends there because they are almost all guys and I do not know what I say to them. this Saturday for the first time I play a tournament and I am now as stress and fear that something will go wrong. is this an indication of God that I better don’t can play football or I must less play football and I should be more busy with God and the bible? or God means nothing and it is normal that I’m afraid? How do I know what God means and if he means something?
I hope you can read it and I hope you can help me with my questionsThanks
Eleni
Hi Tony,
What an absolute joy to have you and the team over here. Lee and i have had what is probably the hardest week since coming into full-time ministry 3 years ago…….but to see souls added to the kingdom this week makes every tear worth it!
God has used you greatly and I hope you, too, have been blessed and encouraged. Would have loved to have come back to Paderborn again tonight, however we run a Christianity Explored course in our home on Thursday evenings.
I know we will be seeing you again! May God continue to bless you and guide your steps and bless your family.
EVERY BLESSING, AMANDA MCDADE
Hi Tony,
My name is Matt Khoo and i am 15 years old from essex. I have recently read your book ‘Taming The Tiger’ and i would just like to tell you that it has helped me a lot in my faith in Jesus.
I have been brought up in a christian family my whole life and my parents love the lord a lot, as does my sister and brother, so i am not a stranger to christianity. My parents bought me your book as a gift at easter to try and get me to grow spiritually, and i am sure it has. However, recently, I have not been acting in a way which would please God, and even though i go to church and youth groups weekly, i do not act as though it is changing me. But your story which is told in this book is truly amazing! I cannot put it into words show much your story has affected me and hopefully it will affect how i live in order to please God. However, I struggle so much to live a godly life when I have my friends around who seem like nothing but bad influences.
I would just really like to tell you that your book had such an impact on me and i have the greatest intention to buy it for my friend who, i hope, would also benefit from it as much as i have! My friend has had a similar life to me, we have grown up together and we have both been brought up in a christian household, yet recently, he has not been going to church as much and told me the other night that he does not feel like a christian anymore and that he does not fit in his family.
I realise that you may not have the time, but i would appreciate it if you took some time to pray for my mate and me as we are going through tough times, his probably worse than mine, and maybe if you have the time, to email back some advise and ideas?
Thanks so much,
Matt Khoo
Hello Tony, My name is Grant, im 23 and from Northern Ireland,
I just wanted to share with you.
I at young age have been round alot of corners. Involved in alot of things in Northern Ireland, as im sure you are aware is quite a difficult place, well I was involved in alot of circles over here,
I also was involved in alot of the criminal underworld circles of London and England. and there isnt noone up and down the country that I couldnt get in touch with.
Like yourself in your days which you talked about in the DVD, I was one who had no remorse or really to be honest, no fellings for anyone elses wellbeing, aslong as me and my family were ok, thats all I was worried about.
I have also, through the circles I have been in over here, done alot of bad things to people. in my head then, they were justified and correct.
It was in 2008, my friend in Essex, Carlton Leach had a film released about his life called The Rise of the Foot Soldier, so I decided with calrton that i Would run as part of the UK tour release of the film, a Northern Ireland legg. And got my friend Dave Courtney talked into coming over, also Eric Mason, who is a good friend of mine and also was the Kray Twins main enforcer in their crime empire in the 60′s agreed to come.
I walked into a local charity/thrift shop called Drop Inn Ministries, they are a locally based charity here in NI, I was in and lifted one of their booklets that described the good work they were doing over the world. I decided to donate the money from the Evening I was running to this charity. So I got in touch with the Director, Pastor Ronnie Dawson and told him, I was running an evening and wanted to donate the money to his chairty, he was overjoyed and said to me, Why not come along to one of the mission trips to Burkina Faso, Western Africa…
Somthing in me, at 20 years old, said OK!
so the do took place in Sept 2008 and put my name on the Map. because here i was a young lad from Banbridge, bringing the Criminal Elite to the town, the media and papers grabbed the story which was good for me, as it sold tickets….
at the do was the ‘Whos Who’ of paramilitaries, I think it was one of the first times they were all in one room, and I didnt even have ONE security or doorman on, 60% of the audience was there out of respect and support to me… so i was thinking i can save £140 on 2 doormen here. cause i knew if it kicked off, i had enough boys around me to sort it. hahaha.
This was the Beginning of the Change for me.
In Jan 2009 went to Burkina Faso, Western Africa with the team, I was the only non-Christian out of the group, but not once did they make any difference to me. which really made me think different about Christians, and how they can be actually ‘Alright’
we spent ten days there, with the schools for the orphans and the bush Churches which had all been built from Jesus through Drop Inn Ministries.
We came home and I was still not Christian, I was thinking, Im too young, I have still too much to do in life.. all these thoughts going through my head, and it wasnt too long before I got back into my old ways.
I made some really good friends on my trip and kept in contact with them. One being a man by the name of Nigel Burrows, he was origanlly from Northern Ireland, but now lives and runs the Drop Inn Projects in Barquisimeto, Venezuela.
Nigel invited me to come out to see him and see the work being done, I always said I would, But never got round to it. that was until last month.I had arranged a trip to Margarita Island on the Carribean, and it only being an hours flight from Nigel in Venezuela, we decided to make a visit to him part of the trip.
We went to Nigel at the end of March and spent a week with him and his team, helping with his work that they are doing there, the feeding projects, visited the prison for the youth.. a really interesting trip, doing good work. the following week I spent in the Carribean, and really done sinfull things, we had the women, drugs, and near ending in a fight with these pimps, it wasnt till I came home that I was under deep and stong conviction for the things i was doing in my life, I had never felt this before on the times where I had done bad, it was all part of the whole ‘Grant Nesbitt’ buble….
And last wednesday night, I was driving home, Jesus was speaking to me, telling me that I had to chance my ways and ask for forgivness for my sins, So I go home, went into my room, got on my knees and Asked Jesus to forgive me for my sins, and into my heart as me Saviour.
I was given your DVD, Taming the Tiger last night, I watched it today. I really had me in tears and Jesus was talking to me through your words.
I just though I would share this with you, and hopefully you could get in touch some time…
God Bless Brother
Grant
Hi Mr Anthony.
I’ve read your book honestly about 15 times Its the first book I actually managed to read all of, I found it very difficult to put down. I actually got your book from a very good friend of mine who actually met you while they were spending some time in colchester army prison. And while you were there you gave him a copy of your book and you signed the book inside to me. That book meant so much to me and held a lot of sentimental value and a few months ago someone stole my bag with the book inside and I never got it back. I have brought the book again but I would very much like your signature inside it I know it won’t be the same but it would still mean a lot to me. Thank you for your time.
Kind regardsClaire Cooper.
Dear Tony Anthony!

To Tony Anthony
My name is Peter, I am 22 and live in a small town called South Molton in North Devon. I go to a baptist church there with about 120 people. Up till recently church has felt very routine to me, i went because its just what you do on a sunday, its all I have known. I believed in God but he wasn’t my everything, it wasn’t personal.
A month ago however I was invited to a revival service with our youth group. I wasn’t very enthusiastic and was dreading how long it would last for. God met with me during that service though and changed me. I still have a long way to go but I have a strong desire now to get to know him and serve him. The first thing I felt God wanted me to do was to turn my back on my large collection of hip hop music something I thought would never happen but its all gone! The steps I have taken so far are only small but i really want to be changed by Him.
These past few days i have been off work struggling with tiredness and lacking energy. I am usually extremely active with my love for machinery, riding, driving or fixing. My busyness often left little time for God though. This time off has made me stop though and caused me to pick up Taming The Tiger and read it cover to cover. I rarely ever read, but your book really gripped me and allowed God to speak to me. The end of the book especially made an impact on me as you talk about how you started to become comfortable and how it makes us feel like we don’t need God. My life has been farr to easy so as i shy away from Gods calls but I really want to get out the boat and walk in faith.
Your book has had an amazing impact on me, and i want others to hear it too, the way God has shaped and moulded you through such hard times and made you the awesome man of God you are now. It would be an absolute priveleage if you could share your story in our church. I know this is a big ask and don’t know whether this would be possible? I thankyou for your time in reading this email, you are truly an inspiration to me.
God bless you from Peter
Hi Tony,
I just finished reading your book and its the best biography I’ve ever read! I had tears in my eyes!
I’m a 27 year old male from south Africa, and someday when I go to England I really want to meet you!
Thanks for the awesome book, was an eye opener for me! Thank you for spreading the word of Jesus! You are an inspiration to mankind! Without love for another, life would be a mistake!
Kind regards,
Christian
hello i am so blessed by your book the cry of the tiger this book is gifted me by my mom i am so blessed to read your story MAY GOD BLESS YOU A LOT
Dear Tony,
Thank you so very much for returning to Greig City again last Thursday with the good news for our year 10 conference. The entire year group have been talking about your visit since you left . Some of them left the conference and walked into their Maths lessons telling their teacher how inspiring it was and asking for Bibles! Iwill be contcting Gideons next week to bring in some more bibles. Many of them came to thank us for inviting you in and some will be writing to you next week. Some students asked us to invite Michael Wright in as well and wondered why he visited prisons. Perhaps you would pass on our invitation and details to him, if he ever visits schools.
Please let me know if you are visitng any London churches in the coming weeks or months as there are some people who were very sad to miss your talk and really would travel to hear you.
Thank you also for the additional DVD’s and tracts. I will bring some of tem to te Christin club that meets every Tuesday.
Thank God that he has done an amazing work through you and Avanti

I look forward to hearing from you and god bless you and all your volunteersMrs Haylie
Hello Tony,
I have no idea how to start this email, but all i know is that something is
telling me to write to you.I first heard your story on a cassette tape that was given to me by my
sister, who is a born again christian and attends Lymm baptist church, she
gave it me shortly after your visit there ( i think you visited Risley
prison too). I was blown away by your story and i even bought your book
(taming the tiger).I have just finished reading it for the third time and wanted to say
thankyou, i dont really know where my belief lies, most of my family are
born again christians, yet dont ram it down my throat, my brother and i have
similar views on this, but still something niggles me when i get invited to
church, i feel tearful and lost, sometimes i pray, but if im honest its only
when i need something or feel lonely.
I have many views but if shared you would be reading this next week. Im
going to send your book to my brother who lives in New Zealand, who’s wife
has just turned to the lord, as you can imagine my family are extatic. Thanks again Tony

Dear uncle Tony,
Hi! I’m Ruth and I’m 13 years old. I am from India but my Dad got a job here in Dubai so we moved here recently. I’ve got friends back down in India and we are suppose to keep in touch through emails but some of them are in their final year of school so they’re kind of busy studying and stuff so I can’t expect them to be writing to me. Anyway I read your book Taming the Tiger and I loved it. I was amazed at the work God does. I was wondering that if your not too busy to just write to me. I’ll be delighted to read your mails.
Love,
Ruth

If you’ve been to Opwekking last year, you must have heard Tony Anthony’s story.
http://www.arkboeken.nl/shoppingarea/product_details.php?product_id=00000000001847

Dear Tony Anthony,
I am uncertain about whether you will get this message but I thought it would be worth a try to write you an email.
I thankyou.
Natalie
Hey Tony, you may not remember me, we met in Castle Huntly Prison in Scotland in late 2006. I had read your book in a previous prison and I was fascinated by your story. I felt connected to you. I had also studied martial arts ( no- where near your level) and I also got involved in bodyguard work. this also led me into robberies and doing the dirty work of career criminals. I ended up getting 5yrs in prison for abduction and attempted extortion.
I was introduced to the Christian fellowship in prison by a Nigerian guy who asked me every week for two months to come along. I couldn’t be bothered with all that Bible bashing crap! However eventually I gave in to his requests and went along. that night my life changed!!!! I thank the lord Tony and I also believe The Lord introduced me to you for a reason. You said something to me after your testimony.. “John, you and I will work together some day”
well tony I have been out of prison for nearly a year now and I got connected to a great church in Edinburgh where I live. What got me to go there was seeing your name as a recent visitor. The church is called Destiny and the pastor is Peter Anderson. I am in a great place Tony and my life is going well. I am finding it difficult to find work, however I volunteer my time at church to teach english to the polish community and I have also gotten involved with drama at church. I have been given the honour recently to pray for people after the service and I am also going to lead my first fellowship night in two weeks. The Lord has wonderful plans for us all.
Tony your testimony helped me to find God, you words inspired me. praise to the student is praise to the teacher, GOD.
Any way I wrote this poem for you, hope you like it. its my way of thanking you.
Hello Tony.
My name is Pte. Theo Prinsloo and I am a 26 year old South African Christian, currently serving in HMF ‘The Parachute Regiment’, 3rd Battalion as a Commenwealth Soldier.
Regards
Pte. Theo Prinsloo
Dear Jamie,
Please will you pass this message on to Tony as I don’t have his e-mail adress?Dear Tony,
I have been reading your book ” Cry of the tiger” and so far it has been hard to put it down. It must have felt really good to be able to complete the “ultimate test”. Your training sounded very harsh in the book. I love reading! I know a good book when I see one and yours was one of these. My mum has the older version of the book but has not really read it properly yet. I liked the book because there was lots of surprises. I hope you are not still sad about aiya. Enjoy your preaching.Yours sincerly,
Emma (age![]()
Dear Tony
I have just read your book Taming The Tiger and i want you to know I’m going to tell people about you and use your story to help them come to Christ.
I will also tell them how you inspired me to be a better person, and to always persevere in faith. Your story has inspired me to become a better person, thankyou. From Natalie.
Hi Diane! Thanks very much for your e-mail! I was looking at the giving part of your website and entered my details in the form so that I could be sent a direct debit form in the post. I would love to be able to contribute to the work of Avanti Ministries through giving each month. Tony Anthony came to speak at our CU (at Stirling University in 2005) and the year before I went with some friends to hear him speak in Glasgow and one of my friends got saved through his message that night. I had asked my friend to come along because I just had a feeling that it was really important for him to come along, but didn’t know why, but he became saved through Tony’s message!!!
God Bless you all and the work you do!!
Love
Ali
Hi Dianne,
Thanks very much for sending the form, I really appreciate it loads!! You’re story of how you spoke to the young man in Tesco, thats really encouraging!! When i took my friend along to hear Tony speak, it was in first year and i had only known him for about 3 weeks but we had a close knit group of friends and when I was at home i was looking for a book to read and Mum gave me Taming the Tiger and i read it and as i was reading it, so much of what Tony wrote remined me of my friend Colin (Colin was very involved in martial arts and had been in the air cadets and was quite an emotionless person at the time and had alot of anger) and as i was reading it I knew I had to give him the book. And then I went on the internet just to see if Tony was speaking anywhere and I saw that he was speaking in Glasgow the very next week!!! I was sooo excited, so when I got back to Uni I told everyone about it at CU and a small group of us was going to go, and I spoke to colin about it and told him that I didn’t know why but i just had a feeling that it was reaaaallly important for him to come along and hear Tony speak, at one point he wasn’t going to go, but i rpersuaded him to come. And during Tony’s message Colin sat forzen in his seat, totally locked onto what Tony was saying, and at the end Tony said that he was going to pray for anyone there who wasn’t a Christian, and as he was praying I heard a sniff and looked beside me, and Colin was crying (which was a shock in itself since before then he didn’t display hardly any emotion at all) and gave his heart to Jesus that night!! I was filled with such happyness as i didn’t know why it was important for Colin to be at that meeting, i just knew that he had to be there! Colin identified with alot of what Tony said and it just brought the message home!!
Also, my fiance Dave has bought a copy of Taming the Tiger to give to a guy called John at work that he has been witnessing too, and John said that he’d definatley read it! God is using Tony’s story to do powerful things and it is speaking to so many in so many different ways!!
In first year i hardly saw my copy of the book as so many people wanted to read it!

I’m looking forward to getting the form and contribuiting to Avanti Ministries! I keep you in my prayers!!

The visit of Tony Anthony to the Johannesburg area of South Africa this
year was significant in that he came and delivered a Personal Witness to
Jesus Christ that was both relevant and real. The clarity of the Gospel
was powerful, well illustrated truth that causes people to believe and
changes behavior. Tony appealed both to the saved and the unsaved. We
have had some good feedback from people into whose lives the inprint of
the Message has evoked questions and a real seeking after God; in the
community and in the prisons as well as in the schools. We have sensed the real moving of God by the responses as peoples lives
were touched. We were challenged as Christians to proclaim Christ in a
personal way to others. Many Pastors have enquired about a days Conference to do RELEASE. There
is an excitement for next year as we plan to involve thirty churches in
a Seminar and in the Outreach. To have a “Tony Anthony” event in reaching to totally lost men is
something we have learnt from this Outreach. Tony’s life carries the
real message and we praise God, it clearly impacts the young and the old
for Jesus Christ. We are excited about future ministry of this kind for
these inner city communities in Johannesburg, South Africa. The book, The Taming of the Tiger has opened up opportunities to witness
even among the Muslim communities; it is a great tool for Evangelism.God bless you Tony, please use it any way you think fit.

Tony,
Here is my endorsement:
Changed lives are by far the loudest voice of God’s existence and the best proof of His presence and work in mankind. Tony Anthony’s testimony had impacted hundreds of Romanians who not only listened attentively to God’s story in his life but were deeply touched in their hearts by God’s power to change and offer hope to the helpless. His book is one of the most read Christian books around and his speaking events are some of the most sought ministry events around here. Many Christian leaders from various cities in Romania contacted me to find out when is Tony coming back because they have heard of his impact in Arad, in Bucharest and consider his message as a very effective tool to bring people to the Lord in Romania at this time. His modesty, his serving heart and his passionate preaching allow people to see God in Tony’s ministry.

Hi Tony
Good to hear from you; trust that you are feeling well and being
blessed. Here’s a little bit for your blurb as requested:Tony’s remarkable story proved to be a real draw for hundreds of people
when he visited the town. He spoke with humility & honesty but what I
was ultimately left was was a sense of his passion for Jesus and his
presentation of the gospel was the real highlight of every event. It was
clear, succinct and very challenging and above all God glorifying. I
feel privileged to have been able to work alongside Tony and his team.Hope this will fit the bill and isn’t too long. Cut and paste it as you
want, and if my grammer isn’t too hot then feel free to correct it!!Every blessing in Jesus

Dear Mr Anthony
I read your book Taming the Tiger the other day and i was deeply
touched. Not only by the suffering you went through as a child but how
you were raised from the pits of Hell to the heights of Glory as your
book says.I am 15 and live in Tilbury with my mum and brother. My Dad lives in
Kennington and i find it hard to have that same kind of relationship
with him like i do with my mum who is my rock. I suppose i am asking for
advice on how i can fix this as people keep telling me don’t worry about
your earthly dad as you have a better one in heaven. I am a christian
but i do often slip off the rails and sin quite a lot and feel like i
have always lost the connection i had with God when i was younger. I was
just wondering on how i could spark my relationship with God again.Yours Sincerely Eddie
Hi Tony
My name is Yolande and a friend of mine borrowed me your book Taming the
Tiger I must admit for a autobiography it’s very well presented.I am a new born Christian I have made my commitment this year the 31^st
of May at our Lay Renewal Weekend. You see the thing I am struggling with is that I was really interested
to become a Close Protective Operator I have a passion for the
occupation, but I need to know what your personal opinion is of that
line of work.At the moment I really don’t know where The Lord wants to use me.
Hope to hear of you soon.
Many Blessings
Yolande
Hi!
Wanted to share that with you – a lady that passed an order:
“Thanks again for your reply. I was looking for the DVD that tells his
testimony the reason behind this, is because God spoke to me
through Tony Athony’s testimony when he came to High Wycombe on the 23rd
of September this year and that day I sincerely decided to give my life
to Jesus Christ. Since that day up to now, I have experience a big
transformation in my life. I’m a new person in Christ, new mum, new
wife… it’s very long testimony. I now praise the Lord every day of my
life that he has saved. I’m buying this DVD to share it with my family
because I want them too to enjoy the Glory of Lord like I am now, and
them too to see what Christ is doing on earth through people’s testimonies.”Always encouraging and… refreshing to read testimonies like that, huh?

Dear Tony,
A copy of you book ‘Taming the Tiger’ was recently given to me by a friend and I have just finished reading it. I felt compelled to write and tell you how much your words have helped me to realise just what it means to live fully as a Christian and live in the grace of our wonderful Creator. The suffering you had to endure is awe inspiring and I thank God for the incredible work he is doing through you. It is incredible to me just how much God can do in the darkest moments of our lives.
I was born into the world of the occult. My mother was a practising witch and growing up I was heavily surrounded by the realities of the existence of the spiritual realms. Very often I would see manifestations and apparitions of what I now know to be demons. Being so young I simply accepted this as normality, but going to school and having normal friends, I realised just how differently I viewed the world. I understood very early on that the spiritual over lapped the physical and that there was much more to this world then what we could simply see. My mother used to channel spirit guides who claimed to be beings of a divine and enlightened nature, giving information of future events as well as knowledge and philosophies which were very sophisticated. I found it interesting how this was not so dissimilar thought to what you were taught as a child. I find it interesting how demons always adopt a similar guise to preach their lies, and in the case of Kung fu, the focus was on the power that could derived from animals to lead you down a path of so called enlightenment. Quite similar to the animal guides that form the basis of many belief systems such as that of Indians.
At the age of 10 something amazing happened. My Mother met a Christian and was led to Salvation. Like you, her past meant that the transformation in her life on encountering Jesus was immense. Many long years of severe spiritual attack followed. I must say although it was tough, I do full privileged to have experienced both sides of spirituality so that I can speak with even greater conviction when I proclaim the truth of Jesus Christ.
At the Age of 16 I fell away from God and lived a life of hedonism. I was basking in a very active social life, going to parties every week, having casual sex and dabbling in drugs. I felt this need to run away from my strange and abnormal past. Its not something which I could talk about openly with my friends, they could never understand. And the fear of being rejected as an outcast always worried me. So I hid my true self behind a very confident and outgoing social persona. It was an attempt to break away from my past and convince world that I was normal like everyone else.
In the last 12 months that all changed. I met a woman who I believed I would spend the rest of my life with. I fell in love. I felt I could trust her but I also knew that if this was someone I wanted to be with, I would have to be truthful about my life. I knew that by telling her, we would come to the conclusion that we must give our lives entirely to God. How could I know everything that I do and not give my life to him. I would be a fool. I told Cristel everything and decided to ignore my fear of rejection. She seemed to accept everything and asked intelligent questions and I genuinely believed she was taking it all on board which surprised me. We both gave our lives to God. I was so happy I could not express my gratitude to God enough. I would tell everyone of the incredible things he was doing in my life. I was truly content and had a desire to witness to all of my friends whenever I could.
But then things started to go wrong. Cristel started to have doubts about everything I had told her but kept it all to herself. Her doubts snow balled and she didn’t feel able to talk to me about it. About 2 months ago, she sat me down and said that she can’t be with me or live her life as a Christian. She told me she struggled to believe everything I told her was true. It was my worst nightmare. Having kept my guard up for so long, the one time I let someone in and they reject me and tell me they don’t believe it. I had been planning on proposing to her this December. I was devastated. Over the last 8 weeks I have been on an emotional roller-coaster. I became depressed and angry at God. I has distanced myself from a lot of friends who I thought were a bad influence and represented a life which I no longer wanted to be part of which just added to my feeling of isolation. I then found out that 2 weeks later she had started a sexual relationship with a man from her work. This was especially hard to hear. After all, becoming Christians meant we could not have sex until we were married. She told me that that was abnormal and that she didn’t want that lifestyle.
Although I have been very distraught over the last 2 months, I have heard Gods voice more clearly than I ever have in my entire life. I thought that this experience may ruin my relationship with him, but the opposite is true. It is true that God works best in your darkest moments. My relationship with him has been strengthened beyond what I could ever have imagined. I am not ashamed to admit that I felt a broken man but it is through this experience that He has brought me closer to Him. I hear his voice more clearly and I have learned to put my trust in him completely.
You know when I sat down to write you an email, I had intended on writing a short message of encouragement to you for all that you are doing in your ministry, but instead I seem to be writing about my life story and my problems. That wasn’t my intention when I started writing but it seems to be the way its worked out.
I feel that I have completely turned my back on my old life and am now embarking on a new one with Jesus Christ. I must say it is scary and I find myself feeling anxious about what the future holds and whether I have the strenght within me to do what He asks. But I must remind myself that He is in control and there is no need to be frightened.
I really admire the passion you have in evangelising to others and I hope to one day have that same fire in me when I go to do Gods work. I am now 21 and feel more than ever that God has a great life planned for me.
I will pray for you and your ministry. I pray that you find renewed strength each day to spread the news of Our Lord Jesus. I must say I have deep respect for the life you have lived and hope that one day our paths will cross.
God Bless you Tony

I just wanted to say that I read your book ‘Cry of the Tiger’ twice!! and it has been a real blessing to see how the Lord can make all things work for good and that everything has a purpose. I have been a Christian for 9 years and enjoy reading books specially stories of Christians in different places of the world, there s so much to learn from them and I found your story very special.
May the Lord bless you in everything you are doing for Him. Keep on serving the Lord, It s the best job in the world!!!

Dear Tony,
I have just finished reading your most inspiring book Taming The Tiger.
In Christ,
Ray Love Lim.
Tony,
Just to let you know that 6 of the people who were baptised last night, testified that they had given their lives to the Lord when you were preaching. Praise the Lord.
I am still working on the potential movie thing.

Dear Tony,
I felt compelled to write this email to you after completing your wonderful book Taming the Tiger today.
God bless,
James
Hi, my name is Ruth Mabhula I’m sixteen and originally come from Africa, but currently reside in the UK.
Though your book ‘Taming the Tiger’ has been published for a long time I have just recently finished reading it, my father knows how much I like to read and having seen a book from the school he teaches in, he thought to bring me something to read not knowing what it really was about. Through reading your book I have a renewed perception of the church and what it is to be christian. Though I have been a christian all my life as my father is a Pastor at our church, I too have also had the predicament of questioning whether my faith was really down to me or to do with my upbringing. I feel empowered by your story and I find it to be very motivational and inspiring. You must have received many emails such as mine and I hope you get the chance to read mine. Thank you for you unplifting book, and giving an insight to your personal life.
Your book has given me a renewed spirit towards evangelism and a confidence I have not had. Once again thank you!P.S I’ve added you on facebook…so as not to get any surprises…:)

dear tony one of my church mates gave me your book to read thank you
very much for sharing your experiences and opening up my mind to the
possibility to a higher entity. My name is Chung-Lai (Michael) Robson or my Chinese name Chung-Lai Tsang
I was born and raised in an orphanage in Hong Kong till the age of 5. At
the age of 5 a European couple came and adopted me and took me to New
Zealand. Through my younger years I was often bullied by school mates
for being Asian as I was the only Asian at the primary school. I also
started stealing and lying a lot. My adoptive parents were abusive in
many forms both physical and psychological to both myself and to each
other. This led me to running away often and when I was the age of 13 I
ran away and lived on the streets of Auckland for a week surviving with
other street kids by scabbing and stealing. At the age of 16 I started
to get more into the criminal lifestyle and grew up with a Tongan gang
called Tongans Finest based in Mangere but I remained on the North Shore
with the Tongan family that raised me and provided me with a family
basis. Through my assimilation into European culture I lost my identity
and language. At the age of 19 I went to prison for a variety of charges
mainly assaults. Previous to me getting caught I had roamed the streets
with other delinquents going to white boy parties and beating them up
while stealing what ever we could. Whilst I was in prison I felt safe
and secure maybe because it had the same format as the orphanage that I
missed so much. When I was released I went into a deep state of
depression and ended up with my adoptive dad of whom I never bonded
with. The relationship between my adoptive dad and mum was a turbulent
one and they got divorced when I was at the age of 17. My first
girlfriend of 5 years left me once I got out of prison which added to
the stress of my depression. I ended up joining the Triads and have been
with them since. Through them I found the strength to get over my
depression and in a sense a family bond. I stayed with my Triad group
for 2 years and after formed my own family (gang). Through the past
years I have dealt with all the major gangs in NZ from Head Hunters to
Nomads. Through the last 5 years I have dealt drugs on a wholesale basis
getting it directly from Taiwan, China and more recently Canada through
a Vietnamese Canadian group. I was also involved in a couple of
kidnappings, extortion, fighting, black mail and protection. Only 2
weeks ago I was kidnapped, assaulted and tasered by a gang for a period
of 2-3 hours. I managed to escape by jumping out of a moving vehicle and
run to a point of safety where I stayed till the police came and got me.
All the things that happened to me that night I felt like it had
happened to me before. There are so many things that have happened in my
past that I can’t change but there are so many things I can do for the
youth of today through my experiences. I would really appreciate the
opportunity of using my past negative influences to make a positive
influence on the youth of today. I have just completed my Certificate of
Social Services Level 4 in Youth Specialisation with intentions to get
better qualifications so I can learn more about myself and grow as a person.after reading your book i reliased that there are so many people who
have had a worse life than me in comparision and im still trying to open
up and learn to trust and love again.once again thank you very much
Hi Tony. I enjoyed your book Taming the tiger a lot. Pray that our Saviour Jesus will bless you and your family. Realize that I to so often become entangled in the things of this world. I left my second wife 10 months back for fear of losing my children. I am currently in divorce case. A lot is being stolen of me. My house , furniture and money. Iam a middle class working man of 41 years old. Some times I think I should just let her steal everything. It is all just earthly things and I have a future Hope. Pray that God will give me wisdom. To do what will please Him.

Dear Tony,
Hi. My name is Vaughan Alexander Jackson, and I am a 38 year old Christian in Auckland, New Zealand.I have been a Martial Artist in the past, doing Wing Chun Kung Fu, and Jujutsu.
I was recommended your book by a Christian, so I purchased ” Taming the Tiger”. I say this with all honesty. I have read many books, but that was the most enjoyable and exhilarating book that I have ever had the privilege to read, mate.
I also appreciated your rigorous honesty.
I know that suffering is a requirement for heaven, and I related to your overly strict upbringing, abuse, drugs, etc.
And of course the martial arts.
Please look for me on Facebook, “vaughan jackson, new zealand,” with a jujutsu photo ( b and w ).
God Bless,
Your brother in Christ,
Vaughan.
Hello, I’ve read your book a number of times. Just finished it again it reminds me how much I need jesus in my life. Although I am an active member of my church I really struggle. Reading your book really helps me focus on how much I need to rely on God not self. Thank you
Hi Tony! I just got ahold of your audio book Taming the Tiger. Wow! I’ve listened to it three times already this week:) What an inspirational message and a testimony to the power of our Lord! I wish we could talk in person but i live out in Canada… Thanks Again!!!!!
Hello Tony. I’m from canada and i felt like i had to get in contact with you. Originally im from germany, so i listened to your book in german. I was quite touched by your life and wanted to write you. I am a christian too, who has been saved by gods amazing grace. I am thankfull for his great love and glad that i can ask for forgiveness at all times and that he understands his child. The reason i am writing, is because i am a saved sinner who wants to tell others god loves them. I also have some personal questions to you. Please respond.
Subject: Encouragement
Bonjour Tony,
I’ll try to be clear even if I can’t speak well english. I am Patricia, I am Malagasy. In Madagascar, we speak Malagasy and French. I’ve read your book entitled in French “Oeil du Tigre”. I really appreciate and would to thank you for sharing your amazing history. Even I finished to read it, I share to my workmates, I will offer them this book for Christmas. I am social worker and for now, my attribution is to perform the social workers competence in preparing prisonners’ social returning. We’re working together with the Malagasy Prison Administration. As soon as I know I can correspond with you, I’m in hurry to encourage you to the mission you’ve chosen. I’m also Christian. I encourage You to be strong in all the activities of the mission you lead and wish you the best in Our Jesus Christ.
Hope to hear from you soon
Hey Tony!
I am Markus from Germany.
I just finished reading your book “Taming the tiger” and I want to thank you for writing down your story!
It encourages me to move forward and believe in the good plan god has for all of us. Especially when it seems that god is miles away and we wonder why all this tragedy is happening in our life!
The story you told Nigel when you were back in prison about the one survivor who made it to an island without any human being is one of my favorite moments in the book! He builds himself a hut but it is burning when he comes back after searching for some eatable and he can’t believe what is happening. But in the end this is his rescue! Amazing! We have to trust in god and that it all will turn out well if we abandon ourself to Jesus.May god bless you and your family!
Greetings from Germany
Markus

Hello Tony,
I am still reading your book on TAMING THE TIGER its intriguing as i have loved martial arts since i was i kid. That would be due watching many martial arts movies made and acted by people like Jackie Chan , Bruce lee and so on. But growing up in a christian home soon learned that there are spiritual attributes to martial arts so i refrained from learning the ancient art. but i liked your story showing me that there are greater things in Christ than any other earthly things. TAMING TE TIGER IS A GREAT MOTIVATOR I LOVE IT.
Say, have you thought about turning the book into a movie.? Many people may not read the book but they will watch a movie, especially the young generation.
I can help in some way with that.
I really missed you on 8 Dec in Brentwood on ice. Am wandering if there is a way i could know your schedule such i can come listen to you sometime. Currently live in Harlow Essex.
Meanwhile could you please send me information about AvantiTimothy Tabaaro Tumwesigire
Hi, I have heard your testimony previously. I will be at tonight and tomorrows meetings in Wellington Presbyterian Church Ballymena. I am a retired ex professional (and ex con) who came to the Lord at my “ground zero” in 2008 and since then am devoted to Him. (he who is forgiven much loves much!) I feel the Lord’s hand is on me for a calling into Evangelism but am unsure “where to next”. I would love to be able to speak to you. I live in Ballymena – though am not a member of the chruchwhere the meetings will be. If you can and are willing to meet me perhaps you could send me an email.

Hi Tony,
My name is Ian, I first read your book ‘Taming the Tiger’ about five years ago, I enjoyed martial arts and i was interested in the book because of that. since then the book has been passed around numerous friends. I happened to read it again about a month ago and was amazed at your zeal and passion for evangelism. I have started a street outreach in Crumlin, and I got so much encouragement from your dedication through remarkably tough times. I was at the two evenings in Wellington St Church, and really enjoyed both evenings (I was sitting just in front of the guy who didn’t like tracts).my reason for writting is simply that I want to thank you for all you have done, and to encourage you to keep at it, its great!!
many thanks
Gods richest blessings

Hi Tony,
This person was in touch with Michel in Canada, as he wanted to share a story with you.
He gave one of your books to a man that was arrested for the third time last year, a man who was headed for prison and did end up in prison. He loved Karate and even knew who Tony Anthony is!
This week, after about a year he met the man again, and this is what he shared:
“I got a prison sentence of 23 months after insulting the judge! Completely discouraged, he ended up in the St Jerome prison. After a month in prison he decided to read ‘taming the tiger’ et even reread it! Then started reading the Bible. He lent the book to other prisoners, and the chaplain got an increased demand for Bibles. He became a reference for the other prisoners, encouraging them. Joy was abounding in this part of the prison. This man recognises that he needed 23 months in prison to end up on his knees. He’s grateful that God allowed all these things to happen, so as to win his heart! He prayed to God to be released early, and God, in his grace, allowed this to happen and he was able to go back to his family, and is now being settled into a Church! ”
Bonjour M. Parisien,
Michael
Hello Tony,I am reading your book,Taming the tiger. It’s a very moving story to read, and also know what God can do to a person, who has a hunger for him.I am a mother(married)of 4 children. My oldest son read your book, his name is Tony.I would like to encourage you in your ministries and that you may continue to tell people about the Lord.May he bless you and your family.Greetings from a reader from Paraguay(south america).
Bro, I just wanted to drop you a mail to say a huge thank you for writing about your life, what a Testimony to our Gracious God. I am sure you are a busy guy so I won’t ramble on too long !
I have just finished reading your book and it touched my heart so much. I could really relate to some of the dry spots in your life and the way we kind of take hold of the reins and go our own way forgetting to let God guide us. I am kind of in that place now but your book spoke to me in such a profound way, I love the fact that God knows us so well and that their are no coincidence’s just God’incidence’s !! I went to an FGB meeting in Holyhead Anglesey and my friend told me that you might be coming to speak at one of the meals sometime in September and that you had written a book and that you had an amazing Testimony, a few days later I saw your book on my shelf, I didn’t even know I had it !! Praise the LORD.
Since finishing your book I have bought about 6 copies and I can’t wait to give them to people, my uncle especially. He is such a good guy, a hippy type really. He has been into every spiritual following except the true way, anyway he was into “tai chi” for a while so I am hoping he will be interested in reading it. The Gospel comes across so well dude, I’m excited for my friends that will read it, Bless Ya.
My uncle also lives in Holyhead so if you did end up speaking here I would certainly invite him.

Hi Tony,
Just wanted to thank you for writing such a great book, at 36 years of age it’s difficult to believe I have finally read a book from start to finish! And it’s great to read a book about someone only a few miles away, I actually only picked it up because I have just got into boxing and saw that you were a fighter and I was looking for inspiration, it was only as i was reading that I realised that it was a book that was so much more than fighting, it has definitely made me think.
Kind regards
Lee
Anthony, I have had a pleasure to read your book and that book will change people life. Am planing to buy it to my brothers and cousin who are not saved so that they can see the power of God.
Your story made me read the book less than a week and I thank God for sending his son to come and die for us.
Hope you have written more book and you should put the taming the tiger into a film.
God Bless,
Linda

THANK YOU FOR A GREAT TALK!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Jon (currently doing ALPHA at new life congleton)
I am Damaris from the ecclesia church in Rüsselsheim ( germany
).
I heard the sermon about you life in Wiesbaden . i think it was in the winter.. i can’t remember..
I loved it and i am really interessted in in your life and i also bought your book
because off the school stress i wanst reading it yet but i started reading it yesterday and i got almost the half
it is really interesting but actually i am reading it loudly when i am talking with my boyfriend because he is no real christian he just believes that there must be something that is more mighty than we are .
He told me one day that he is scared to become older or he is scared of the dead. i told hin that i’m not because i know that i will be with God after my dead on earth. we were talking alot about it and then he started to say that he cannot believe in god because he has no evidence from God . He wants God to show him that he is real. i told him to pray for it and he did.. He lives in Switzerland and he has to take the train to get home so actually we cannot see us so often.. he was paring on the wai to the trainstation and he asked him to show that he was real and that he should give him a hint or something. then he missed the train because when he wanted to get a ticked his whole mony was falling to the ground and the ticked needs time to comeout of the tickedmachine and then he ran to the other side of the trainstation and exactly when he arrived infront of the door of the train, the train drove away. he was o angry it was midnight and the next train would have come in 1 hour so he wrote me a text message what to do my mum was angry but she said that he could come back an wait untill the next train comes . so he did, when he arrived he told me that he was talking to god and that he was asking for him and everything. and then he missed the train and he said if that should have been a evidence that wasnt fuyy and he thinks god hates him.. i wanted to show him you life because i think you life is actually a really good example. but when i read it out loud on the phone he isnt lstening because h is doing other stuff and he wont read it by himself because he said that he never has time and then i said, if i get his sermon on a cd or something – if sombody reccorded it – wold you listen to it? and he was surprised but said yes so i want to know from you if you know if your semon in wiesbadesn was recorded from sb ? taht would be so great![]()
i apologize for my bad school english
I really thank God that i was listening to oyur sermon. When you asked the people if they would die right now what the think if the would go to heaven or hell i was sure that i had to go to hell but since that day there where so many things different and now i a sure that i will be with our awesome God
I really love him and try to talk to him everyday but there are so many things that i have to do that i dont think about it and i forget him sometimes, that makes me sad but i am motivated to get a better relationship with God
My life is a bit complecated and there are many things that i can’t understand and sometimes i feel like God left me alone but thats a different story.I hope that i’ll get an answer
it would be awesome
but i can understend it when it needs time because i think that u got much to do ..
Be blessed and have a nice week
Greetings from Rüsselsheim – Damaris![]()
Hello Tony,
I thank you for having sent me your preaching, and I blessed God for you
because i found it very clear and well structured. It is a quality work, thank you. I
also wanted to thank you for these 3 days of seminary(seminar) which were for me
incredible, i was richly blessed. I had seen for the 1st time what John and you made with
Avanti and Escape prison ministries it was one year there and I had been strongly touched
because the 1st time when I ” really ” read the Bible, God called me by Matthieu 28.19
then Matthieu 24.14 and I understood that God called me to bring his Word worldwide. I
would share you my testimony if God allows it one day. So i really wanted to encourage
you with all my heart Tony, as well as John and all the team of avanti for what you make,
and I pray that God continues to use you powerfully.
Be richly blessed You and your family.

Hello Tony,
This is Daniel Martynenko first of I want to say thank you for a great week of teaching us about evangelism and really opening our eyes about what are true mission in life is to go and proclaime the gospel. Me and a few guys at my dorm were talking and we were wondering if you can maybe send us some of those “heaven” books that we can take people through when evangelizing to people m the streets and also if you can send us some tracts that we can hand out and drop.
Thank you and hope to hear from you soon
Daniel
GOD BLESS!!!
Hi tony,
Where do I start? I am nearly finished with your book now. I am 24 years old and this will be the second book in my life that I will read to the end. The first one is not worth mentioning. I am truly inspired. I find it hard to stop reading when it is time to stop and go to bed. One more chapter turns into 3-4! Anyway, I hope you’re enjoying your time with you precious family. Thank you for sharing your life and your faith with us here. Sometimes we, as christians, forget and get comfortable with our christian lives, that God fades away. We become “walking christian dummies”. Just looking, talking and acting like some sort of ritual. I’m sure you know what I mean. It sparks a want and a longing to talk to others about it here. I, in a way did have that radical time in my life where God in one night changed me. Maybe not like you but I know the ‘feeling’. It is more of a state of being than a feeling. Being within God and Him in us. That closeness. It is a good reminder of how we should be. We miss you here. The students miss you. I went out with them this monday and they were much different from other groups before. They were eager to go out there. No fear in them. One guy, Andrey, spoke of joining your ministry. He said one week was not enough. He wants to learn everything you know about evangelism. He did extremely well last monday. They are more equipped and confident in evangelism. May God bless you for what you do. I can imagine how it is for your family when you are gone. Reading the book about you, feels like you are here, and the thought you are not, brings sadness. It was truly a blessing to have you here. Praise be to God! Hope to see you soon!
Sincerely,
Valentin
