Writing to you from Paris where some of the Avanti team (John Lawson, Tim Raggett, Naomi Spurgeon, Cindy Sauvain and Tony Anthony) are serving this weekend. Our initial contact came through a wonderful group that we served with in French Guyana that have set up a church plant that minister largely to the Muslim population through something called “La Casbah” (www.agape-mosaique.org).The mission was successfully co-ordinated by local Pastor Bernard Teyssedou.
We had a very successful evening where John and Tony were able to share testimonies and the Gospel message with Naomi interpreting the whole thing, and it was a thrill to see many of the crowd bravely make a public step to receive Christ. We are also doing extensive work with media development, and so we are squeezing in as often as we can street outreach in between events where we are engaging with the general public using a variety of methods.
On the way home from this evenings event, Naomi, Tim and Tony had the chance to share the Gospel with a group of young men huddled together on a street corner in a red light district. It was clear that they were involved with the prostitution racketeering, and so when we approached them with the camera they were slightly unsettled to say the least, however as we got going they cooled down and listened allowing us the chance to share the Gospel with them. We also needed to stop by a pharmacy to pick up some medicine for Naomi, and John took the opportunity to witness to the queue of people outside the 24hour chemist.
We are looking forward to doing a lot more of that over the weekend. Tomorrow will be a full day of evangelism training followed by a further outreach initiative in the evening. For those that have committed to praying for this ministry, please don’t stop!!!
je vous ai suivi depuis vendredi a la casbah, le samedi pour la formation et aussi demain pour le culte de dimanche a la casbah, je peux vous dire que j’ai passé un week-end passionnante, la formation ma complètement donné une bouffée d’oxygène, libéré de tout poids, ces faux raisonnements par lesquelles le diable me contrôlais par la pensée (sentiment de peur, de crainte, d’oppression….) maintenant, je me lève et je vais…. pour JESUS, qui m’a sauvé et c’est une nouvelle formidable que j’ai hate de partager. C’est en forgeant qu’on devient forgeron, donc je sais que au début je ferais des erreurs mais je ne me laisserai plus abattre par la déception
Merci Jésus pour le ministère Aventi,tu fais une belle oeuvre a travers eux continue a produire en nous ton bon vouloir et le faire afin que nous marchions toujours dans la bonne direction pour labourer,semer,planter,arroser, et toi tu fais CROITRE le fruit de la Vie en ses âmes par ta grâce, soit bénis Père céleste, dans le nom de Jésus
