Statement of Faith
The Christian Golf Society is a non-denominational organisation founded to offer Christians with a passion for golf the opportunity to meet, play in competition with one another and to provide non-threatening opportunities for Christian golfers to share the good news of Jesus.
- We believe in the sovereignty of God.
- We accept God as our creator and ruler and believe that we were created to live in a relationship with God, which can only be attained through belief in Christ and his resurrection.
- We seek to put into practice the love of Christ
- We cannot earn God’s forgiveness for our sins – it is given by God’s grace. We believe Jesus Christ’s death on the cross paid the price for our sins. Therefore in response to this we seek to demonstrate in practical ways the love that Christ describes in the gospels and as expressed in his crucifixion.
Jesus taught (Matthew 22: 37 – 40) ". . . Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: Love your neighbour as yourself. All the law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments."
