Regardless of our personal opinion on war against terrorism and the deployment of our troops around the world, we should all agree that our brave servicemen and women need our support in prayer. Having spoken to many soldiers returning from tour of duty you can get a glimpse into the huge stress and danger that they are under. A prominent military figure recently said:
Death is not the end and soldiers need to be spiritually better prepared for war…in my business, asking people to risk their lives is part of the job, but doing so without giving them the chance to understand that there is a life after death is something of a betrayal…
At Avanti, we are 100% committed to giving soldiers that chance to hear the Gospel and for this to be followed up through discipleship. Similar to our prison ministry in approach, we aim to reach soldiers through events, correspondence, literature and training.
