I am Phil Wiliams a Youth and Community Worker based at Christ Church, an Anglican Church on an estate in Redditch. My wife Lyn and I have been Christians for 18 years and our two sons, Ben and Daniel, have made their commitment to Jesus.
My personal walk during the last 18 years has been about being gently led by Jesus to surrender more of my life to Him. As a young man I was very ambitious and my career and family and sports were the most important things in my life. I had little time for anything that did not involve one of those three. Then things started to change, I attended a church service with a party of school children who were performing at the local church and was amazed when I saw people enjoying worship and the message kept coming back to me for several days. I visited the church on about three or four occasions before speaking to the Pastor who one evening challenged me to accept Jesus and become a disciple. I knew it was a key moment in my life. Since then nothing has given me greater pleasure than being able to lead people to Christ.
I work a lot with teenagers and I also head up a programme of door to door evangelism on the estate where our church is each summer. I and love meeting people and starting discussions about the big questions in life, about Jesus and the gift He offers each one of us. Stepping out in faith is good because it encourages us to trust that God will go before us and prepare the hearts of those who are open to the Good News at this time.
