Escape is the name of the Avanti Prison ministry:
We are dedicated to reaching as many prisoners in as many prisons around the world with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Prisons have a special place in my heart as that is where I had the honour and privilege to hear the Gospel. I was set free spiritually in a prison and I am so grateful for what Jesus Christ did for me on the cross that I am now dedicated to sharing the good news to others.
The prison ministry oversees a team of writers that seek to establish relationships and share the Gospel with prisoners all over the world. Where possible we can arrange one to one visits but primarily prisoners need contact from the outside world on a regular basis. The most effective method is through the hard work and dedication of the prison writers.
We also visit many prisons by invitation to speak at outreach events where we get the opportunity to share out testimonies and the Gospel with many prisoners. We also arrange to go back into the prisons where possible to train the existing prisoners in the vital area of evangelism.
Most recently in the UK we visited HMP Whitemoor, HMP Dovegate and HMP Thorn Cross young offenders’ institute. The events were well attended and many men gave their lives to Christ and are now further exploring their faith through the hard work of the prison Chaplains. I am pleased to say that we have been invited to go back into Dovegate and Thorn Cross to run “Passion” raining events in Evangelism discipleship.
I am also currently planning a mission trip to preach the Gospel in 12 prisons in Zambia central Africa where we write to many prisoners. We are seeking to take a team of 4 missionaries on a two week trip to the Copperbelt area with the aim of reaching over 10 thousand people with the Gospel as well as addressing some physical needs by taking in basic food and toiletries for the prisoners.
This mission is going to cost around £9000 and so far we have raised just over £2000. If you are in a position to help financially, please consider supporting and partnering with us in the equipping and sharing of the Gospel. Above all can I ask that you would consider praying for us on a regular basis. The enemy is prowling around like a Lion and we need your prayers in all areas of ministry and personal life.
Please see the following link for a short clip of some of the prisons we have visited around the world:
